Root Power off/on...have to reclock?

I am new to this rooting stuff. I am running 2.2, froyo and Launcher Pro. When I power off (don't do often) the phone comes back up really slow. I tried the default Launcher and it does the same thing so I am thinking it probably is not Launcher Pro (althogh it could be doing something in the background) I noticed that my clock speed, which was set to 900 is down to 250 when the phone boots back up which is probably why it is powering up so slow. Is there anything I can do to have it keep the 900 setting so that it boots back up faster? Is it the clock widget possibly? Be gentle, I am tech challanged.

Assuming you're using SetCPU, make sure "Set On Boot" is checked. This should help.

I wasn't but loaded it on and set it on boot. I was using another app.
