I need real answers on how long the Incredible's battery lasts. I currently have a BB Storm (first generation) and I'm about to purchase a new phone.

On a normal day I use my Storm for the following:

1. 1-3 hours of talk time (some speaker phone use)
2. Browse the net for 30 minutes
3. Constantly emailing/texting
4. Listen to music for 30 minutes

I usually charge my Storm once every other other day. I really like the Incredible but I keep reading about how bad the battery life sucks.

Thanks!!

Mine, with the 1750 siedio was comparable to the storm, a little worse with oem IF i followed the same usage patterns on both. Side by side comparison, since I carry both usually.

its a catch 22, if you just use the stock apps, and continue your current usage pattern it would probably be ok and should easily get you through the day and then some, BUT if you don't plan on changing your usage patterns the phone you have is better for email and texting anyway imo.

Charge the storm every other day, now that's incredible! I had to charge mine every day... I can get about 8 hours with my phone and i'm on it all day! By 10 hours its dead.

Understood that it is your opinion, but WOW, I can't believe anyone would recommend the storm1 over the dInc, even if just for email and texting. Perhaps it is just me, but the storm's touch screen is just miserable, especially to type on.

OP,
If email/text is your primary goal, (typing + stock apps), then perhaps the first decision should be touchscreen vs keyboard. If you are fine with touchscreen, dInc with swype or multi kb is excellent. However you might find either holding out for the d2 or whatever they are calling the tour2 (bold something?) might be something to consider.

But back to your question - I find the battery to be a bit worse than the bold, but either device can get my through the day. I have a habit of charging at night and keeping a charger with me just in case. If it becomes a problem, hi-capacity batteries are available. My friend's dX doesn't seem to be much better in terms of battery, but usage patterns may be different.

AND, another thing to consider - dInc might be one of the only phones you are considering that is open enough that you can install a different kernel. The undervolted (underclocked) kernels should give you better battery life without impacting performance (to someone with 'lighter' usage). Combine that with Froyo, and you'll likely do just fine.

I had my storm 1 for 2 years and it was a constant struggle. While I could get more than a day out of my battery, it didn't make sense not to charge every evening so I started fresh every day.
Getting to the dinc, I could not be happier. While bb does email faster, everything else is better with the dinc (I miss bbm a little, but not enough to make a diff).
With the useage the op is speaking of, he will easily get through the day with the stock battery. The problem lies with the fact that your useage will dramatically go up when you realize how much the dinc does and how great it does it.
Typically, I plug my dinc into my pc mid afternoon to top it off before I leave the office and that gets me thru the day with no problem. I could see needing an extended battery if you spend most of your time away from a computer or car, otherwise just plug it in every time you get in the car and you'll never have a problem.
Go for the Incredible, it is so well worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
