They [HTC] didn't seem optimistic. More like 1.6 with your Google NAV. That's what most of us cared about, in relation to the Motorola Droid, when verizon released their droids.
I would rather stay with the Sense UI. I'm just afraid the update will kill the experience with my Eris. That's what happened to me with my G1 after they updated to 1.6. Just lagged a lot.
I keep hearing it both ways. The documents posted here say that the Eris will just get bug fixes on Dec 11th and Jan 22nd, but Verizon (I know I know) and HTC reps are saying that 2.0 should/could be here in December. If the any of the Passion rumors are true, then HTC would have to be close to 2.0/Sense UI for a December/January launch. I guess we can only wait and see.
Google Maps is no longer available for download in Android Market on the Eris. Could this mean Google is prepping Google Maps Navigation for launch on the Eris?

After reading all this depressing news of Droid Eris missing the Google Nav boat with Android 1.5, I purchased Copilot Live and while I would be more inclined to "trust" a Google app over unknown third parties, I live. The GPS lock is fast, 3-5 seconds and does everything I want.
Google Nav would be nice, but Eris is performing well with Sense UI and 1.5. HTC saves the day.

Seems to me like the OP was making the point that the Eris got skipped. As to alert their Eris friends. In the Eris forum. So they could have an outlet to collectively gripe/talk about it.
This thread is fine.
P.S. That signature is HILARIOUS. I wanted to make a mock commercial to that effect using at&t's most recent ad. But, you know, not a commercial making guy.

K so if I make a thread about android 2.0 getting an app, and slap it in the Eris section, it's fine as long as I say "Drat, they should have released this for the Eris"?
Logical.
