Root [Theme] REVOlution for Droid X Froyo 2.2 R2 (9/14/2010)

The only thing you unzip on your computer is the 'goodies' zip.
The theme itself has to be installed by following the steps. If your have trouble transferring the files from the goodies zip, check the usb connection mode and if that's all in order re-download the file and try again.

"goodies" zip? i have the file and all i see is "META-INF" folder, "system" folder, and remtool.sh

still pretty new to this stuff. i am rooted and deodexed using that 928droid black glass thing.

ok nevermind i found the goodies zip. but if i wanted to do the REVOlution R2 how would i go about installing it?

The how to is on the first page of this topic. In almost every case when it comes to roms or themes, it's best to follow the instructions to the letter.

Unless you want duplicate apps I'd suggest installing R1, that is until someone is kind enough to provide us with the full names of the R2 duplicates so they can be deleted via root-explorer...

i still dont get it. it says to install the zip files onto the root of my sd card? do i even extract the zip file? and i dont have a root on my sd card... very lost but i bet im missing something simple. sorry for being such a "noob"

Haha, I hear you man. The AOSP apps (duplicates if you use stock 2.3.15) are as follows:

CalendarGoogle.apk, EmailGoogle.apk, DeskClockGoogle.apk, and Mms.apk

Root of sdcard just means right on it, not in any folders. Do not unzip the file, Clockwork recovery will unzip it for you and install it.

holy shit im flipping out anything i try is not working i just f.cked up my phone. should of just left the damn thing alone wtf anyone please help

What ROM were you running? The only thing I can think of that would cause it to get stuck at the M is if you were running 2.1 and tried to use this 2.2-only theme.

Regardless, if you can get into Clockwork, just restore to a backup you (hopefully) made before trying the theme.

The OTA is not deodexed, that is why this failed. You need to deodex your ROM if you want to theme it, or flash a deodexed ROM first before themes.

Clockwork (bootstrapper) gives you the ability to make backups, but doesn't make one unless you specifically told it to.

If you don't have a backup, I would just start the phone while it's connected to your PC, go through the process of getting into the bootstrap recovery, then download the 2.3.15 onto your sdcard (you can access it in recovery by going into mounts, mount usb storage)

Put the file on your sdcard, and then format system, mount it, and flash the 2.3.15 rom.

That file can be found here:

when i connect my phone to my computer i hear a tone but nothing pops up.

If you guys install this over ApeX, there will be a Gmail FC because it's installing another copy on system, when most likely you have a copy on your data partition.

This won't be an issue when I modify this for ApeX, but until then, you guys will have to manually go into the theme .zip and delete Gmail from /system/app if you install over ApeX (or similar Blurless ROM that deletes Gmail from /system)

Those looking to get back to stock can use this file:

Back_to_stock.zip

There are extra apps in the MM on purpose, since you can use this with other themes as well (and possibly more things will be themed in future releases of REVOlution)

Use the same instructions as installing this theme.

So I am trouble shooting the double tap internet format that isn't working for me. It is enabled in settings and works on select sites. Going to start by removing this theme and going back to stock. If fail then go back to 2.2sbf. But this .zip isn't working. It hangs when installing. Never shows status bar% it just sits with status bar empty saying that it is installing. Any ideas?
