Root Help me get S-on again

I have to return a phone that was previously rooted. I unrooted by flashing the PBIMG file. Now I have a stock rom but I still have S-OFF. I downloaded the S-ON zip file but when I go to Recovery, all I get is an icon of the phone with a red triangle on it. How can I flash the S-ON?

Do I need to Re-root then S-on? If so, could I still reflash the stock rom? What is the proper sequence. Did I lose the recovery module when I went back to stock? I would appreciate any help please.

Okay, another complication to add. I already activated my new phone and did a factory reset on the old one prior to shipping it back. This was all before I remembered the S-off. Now, I can't get past the activation screen in order to turn USB debugging on.

If I do have to reroot, can I get past the activation to turn on Debugging?

What you're seeing is the stock recovery and it's options are accessed via the volume up button once you see the triangle. Don't think it'll work however without re-rooting like you mentioned. You need the option in CWM to toggle off signature verification b/c the s-on zip is of course not officially signed. So while rooted, you flash s-on, then after that you either RUU or load the 2.2 PB31IMG.zip in hboot. Then you end up s-on plus factory 2.2 for a return.

What if you are unable to root again? I have been trying since this morning to re-root my phone for just this reason, and after 100 or so attempts at running unrevoked3, have been unable to root it. I have tried formatting the SD card, factory reset to stock, re-downloading the drivers, but nothing.

If I can get it rooted again, I have no problem installing forever then going back to stock, but I can't get rooted.

Do you even read the posts before you respond?

Do you even know what you are asking when you ask? If you have S-Off you can root NO MATTER WHAT. Your SECURITY IS OFF. Feel free to fix it or not, it's up to you. With S-OFF you are rooted FOREVER hence the "UNREVOKED FOREVER" name given to the method. You can receive OTA's and if they unroot you you can go back to being rooted without problems. So again I ask . . .

DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU ARE ASKING WHEN YOU ASK?

Once again, go back and read the post before responding. I can not root again with unrevoked because I can't get back into the phone to turn USB debugging on.
Now, I can't get past the activation screen in order to turn USB debugging on.

What exact problems are you having with rooting?

Thank you very much for help. It solved my problem.

I am truly sorry if I came off as "shouting", although I don't see it, I used no caps. On the other hand, I kept getting suggestions that I already indicated were not doable in my situation.

In any case, I am good to go now so thanks again.
