Root TWLauncher Force Close

So I recently attempted to use the samsung twc or tw launch (forget which is which), while i was using Launcher Pro i renamed the TWlauncher3.0.apk file, which then started to give me a lot of twlauncher force close error messages. I wasn't able to "remove" or "rename" the .odex file until later. I was finally able to rename the .odex file and I started to use the new TWLauncher (i believe the floating copy out there is from the Captivate), this has worked numerous of times before until today. After i restarted my phone, i did the mistake and selected to use TWLauncher as my default home screen (check box) and now it keeps on crashing so every time I turn on my phone i get a black screen, the only thing I'm able to view is the drop down menu. I can hold the home key which brings up the Task Manager.

Anyone have any suggestions How i can restore my homescreen at least Launcherpro so i can fix Twlauncher? Or perhaps a method i can run Root explorer so i can rename the files?

Thanks

ugh thats a messy and the exact reason we are always told to put the LP in system app first and the rename TW. Which brings up an interesting question, if you renamed TW it should not even be seen as an apk cause it isnt and should not be an option?!?! Im not sure what you can do thru recovery, factory reset may or may not work

can you hit search and pull that up at all? if you can you type market, launch that and d/l adw or something to try and bypass.

Well it was a real pain but i finally fixed it, unfortunately you do have to do both hard resets. I wasn't able to avoid this because nothing was working on my phone, they keyboard wasn't working which is why i couldn't bring up google and download launcher pro.

Ultimately, what you have to do is hard reset, then your keyboard and Google search works, but after that you couldn't connect to the Android market. so i was able to get online and find an .apk for root explorer, I managed to get that then rename the Twlauncher.apk which finally stopped giving me the force close. Then i did a hard reset from within the phone. I was finally able to restore the phone, but i had to reconfigure everything :(

With that being said, I reconfigured the Twlauncher again :D using the launcher from Captivate, not sure why it decided to fail on me last night. I like this version of it for the following reasons:
1) allows you to use the Google Search widget (which you have to install the apk first
2)Displays all the apps in grid view alphabetically (default Twlauncher doesn't and its a real pain to search for an app when you have too many installed like I do  )

So an FYI if any one runs into this problem, let me know, I may be able to help you out, its good to experience problems so you can learn
