Root Evo won't start

I think that caps lock will decrease your chances of getting an actual response but i am feeling generous so i will instead respond with a three paragraph runon scentence because it pleases me and will cause you pain when reading and trying to decypher which bit is important information and which is not while understanding that it is important to be able to boot into hboot and recovery because if you can get into hboot worst case scenario is use an external mini sd card reader to write a pc36img.zip onto the root of your sd card and have hboot install it and wipe your phone but get it working otherwise you can go into recovery and just flash a new rom after doing a wipe and let me know how it goes also note that words of confusion are confusing like squirrel pedobear and popcorn but these will throw you off from realizing which bit of info in this paragraph of doom is actually important and will give me satisfaction that you will know not to post in all caps because it is a silly thing that happens to be a pet peve of mine. Scentence 2.

Are you running a custom rom already? If you were on stock, that's obviously why it didn't work (among many other possible reasons). If you are running a different rom, just boot into recovery, wipe cache, do NOT wipe data (unless you want to lose everything), reflash your current rom, then reboot. You will lose any previous theming, custom kernels, etc, but you will still have your data.

So your still stuck on the white HTC EVO screen? If so how long are you letting it sit there for? After you flash a rom/kerenel/theme it takes longer than usual to advance from the white screen.

And when you say you've already installed everything agian, are you talking about reflashing the rom?

If you are stuck on the white screen if you wipe data, cache and dalvik and then flash the rom you should be good.

if i recall correctly, theming resides in the /system partition. Therefore, wiping cache won't do squat (this just erases the /cache partition). Even wiping data won't work (which wipes /userdata partition). What you really need is to wipe /system, which means reflashing any ROM (except for kernel ROMs, which don't include /system (OS) data).

So.... flash any ROM, like a rooted stock, and you should be fine.

for future reference, you need a de-odexed ROM to support themes. If you don't know what de-odexed means, you likely don't have a de-odexed ROM. You should be able to google deodexed (or deoxed) along with your ROM of choice.

You're a asshole plus you need to learn correct spelling. The guy has a problem and is probably excited. If you cannot help in a constructive manner just keep your mouth shut.

I am stuck on it. I was on for the whole day! Now I just wipped everything off and now it just goes directly into the bootloader.

Ok, so, can you get into recovery at least? If not, you'll need to reflash that. If you're good with recovery, you need to put a rom on the root of your sd card. Since you apparently can't boot into anything, you need to take your sd card out and put it in some form of card reader.

You can get any rom you want from here:

HTC Supersonic/ROMs - XDA-Developers

If you want something basically stock, but rooted, this should work:

New_RUU_Supersonic_3.30.651.3_Odexed & Deodexed_Stock_11-15-2010 - xda-developers

There are a lot more out there. You just have to search xda for them. If you want to apply themes, make sure you use a deodexed rom. From the sound of it, you tried to flash a theme on a straight up stock rom. Make sure to wipe cache, etc. before flashing this. Did you already wipe data? If so, I'm afraid you won't be getting anything back.

I think at this point losing data is the least of his worries lol.

You should be able to access the sd card from recovery, in case you don't have an adapter. But don't worry this is a good learning experience... its inevitable that at some point your phone won't like what you flash and give you boot loops. Now at least you'll know how to fix it! I always keep a copy of a rom on the root of my sd just incase something like this happens! But like akazabam said, as long as you can get into hboot your in good shape! Let us know if you have any troubles!

Your are in no way an asshole. You made me laugh out loud which I don't do very often. Anyone who thinks that you are an asshole are the same people that think that everyone who plays on a team should get a chance to play. Any one who thinks your an asshole probably voted for Obama also. Anyone who thinks you are an asshole is also responsible for turning this great country into an ever growing land of sissy pants. Please keep up with your sense of humor. Your post did help me.

If this post helped you laugh which by your own admission you rarely do you need help yourself. God bless you my friend.
