This new Samsung Fascinate is a great phone. But I've seen this issue come up in some other discussions and I'm trying to find out if anyone knows when the updated Android software will release that solves the problem. emails won't download consistently and on time. They get all hung up. And the only way to get them is to turn the phone off and back on again. Then they come cascading into the phone. My wife and an associate of mine just got the phone in the past two weeks and we all have the same issues. We're all on different emails and email servers so that's not the problem. I think I have a versions of the Android software that's 2.1 and am waiting for 2.2. Some other phones have received it, but not the Samsung yet. And it's rumored that this problem will be covered in the new release.

Anyone? Anyone? Thanks for the help. It's really annoying. And shouldn't be the case since email is one of the bigger reasons for a phone like this. It should be able to perform the somewhat mandatory functions well when on the marketplace.

If you still have this problem i recommend updating the phone to the latest "patch" DJ05. You have to be rooted in order to update, i can confirm that after the update I no longer experience any email sync issues. I have a POP and exchange account and they would never get my email according to schedule, POP never worked (worked at first) but exchange only worked when it wanted to.

After the update, my POP account does successfully check email every 5 minutes. Exchange is set to every hour, so far so good. :D

Thanks for the help. Now I need to know how to get the phone rooted. Can you tell I'm new to this? I'll work on that. Apparently a lot of people are having this issue and Samsung knows it and is working on fixing it. But the timing for the update is currently unanswerable.

Appreciate it.

Sure its a very simple process, I recommend you do some reading first you have to be careful some people tend to brick there phone if you don't do it right. follow the links in this page

Ultimately what you want to do is root it and then install "modem.tar" and dj05.zip files, but for now just get your phone rooted. Once that is done let me know and I can PM you the dj05 files.
