(Edited by admin) And it does have multitouch anyway.

Not in the browser or Maps. And how am I being stupid? How much better does the droid look with the new Milestone ROM including multi-touch?

I don't think this can beat the IPhone without multi-touch; my opinion. Seems like a bold statement, but the browsing experience is just not the same.

Stop being stupid. And it does have multitouch anyway.

It may be capable of multi-touch. But you wont get multitouch in any of the default Google apps. People better hope HTC will have their own offering in january with default multitouch since they got a pair of big taiwanese brass ones compard to googles little porcelain marbles.
The more I hear about the Nexus, the less impressed I am with it.

You shouldn't be using the default browser anyways.

3rd party browsers do just as good a job at text formatting and include MT. Its like being mad at no customization for text messaging because you refuse to DL Handcent or Chomp.

No MT in Google Maps = Fail. Despite the added functionality Android version simply doesnt function as smooth on the default view compared to Iphone. Pretty sad if you ask me.

If you are going to go to the effort of putting the milestone rom on the Droid why not just wait for someone to make a rom with sense for the nexus one. The guys at XDA will figure that out for sure and then you will have multitouch.

I don't get why people consider multitouch Pinch and Zoom when there is a lot more to it than that...

Anyway, Pinch and Zoom will only be a good addition if it's fluid, responsive, and doesn't break up while in the process of doing it.

If a phone cannot execute multitouch without those set qualifications, it is a FAIL, in my opinion.

P.S. - @Rix: An iPhone has multitasking and a more free-like OS built in but it's the jailbreaking that causes most Android users to hate iPhone. Same thing should go with any Android Device, as well. Why install an app when it should ALREADY come with it? Especially something as little as multitouch.

Just sayin'.

Multitouch is an overrated feature. On my iPhone, I still use double-tap to zoom in on webpages. Much quicker and more accurate.

Maybe for you it's overrated. I have an ipod touch and anything else I use is absolutely frustrating without the pinch zoom. Not sure how double-tap is more accurate when you can continuously adjust your precise zoom level by moving your fingers together or apart. That seems much more accurate than double tapping and getting whatever the incremental pre-set zoom is for that double-tap.

In a browser it is more accurate. The way the browser formats the text for you makes it literally 2 taps and youre set. Pinch and zoom you have to be constantly adjusting to what you want to read.

Everywhere else. Agreed it sucks.
