Battery Widget - Least Draining?

Which battery widget drains the battery the least...from your experience?

I think the new official HTC is best. I tried a few of the other popular ones but my battery life seems like it has improved since switching to it.

you have a battery meter built in, so that one uses the least as you can't remove it. adding an app to watch your battery is like adding a second gas gauge that runs on gas to monitor your fuel level in your car.

Agreed. I had battery life app then switched to the HTC widget. I prefer a simple widget compared to an app that can run.

I've used the HTC widget since it's release date. Before that I used the one made by curvefish. Both I've had no problems with and see no difference. I tend to stick with brand to brand match ups therefore; I chose to use the HTC for now.

I appreciated the analogy of having an app that 'watches' an internal widget.

I think it's normal to 'try out' a lot of apps when you first get a new phone, and then just delete them....I've had a year experience doing that with my Ipod TOUCH and its a lot of fun.

I just dumped my Curvefish 'battery' app to stick with the HTC one.....

fwiw, the HTC one is nice for the 1 thing it does. a tap pulls up the battery info popup which is easier then rooting through the menu to get there.

I agree with Caddyman that having another app (such as the third-party apps and widgets out there) watch your battery can be a little redundant, so I will throw in my vote for the HTC Battery widget as well. The HTC widget just aggregates the information already available in the system into one place, without (in my experience) draining the battery any faster. I've certainly been pleased with it.

I'll toss my vote in for the HTC widget also. I have the widget on one of my 'side' home screens, and I notice that it updates the widget only when I view that screen. So I'm reasonably sure it doesn't 'watch' the battery and therefore drain it. But rather it waits for me to view the widget before it reads the battery level.

HTC just came out with it, along with three other widgets, a few days ago. You can find it in the Market.
