My mother-in-law has the best application on her Pre - it's an app that downloads pro sports team schedules to the calendar allowing for notification of upcoming games. I have searched all through the market place and haven't been able to find anything similar other than Sports Tap widget. Has anyone seen anything like this? If not, somebody should develop this. I would think it would be pretty popular.

You really don't need it. Log into your google account on a computer and go to the calendar... there's public calendars that you can search on. Just do a search for the teams you'd want to add, there's probably several for each team (I know there's like 20 for the Sabres...). Just add whatever you want to your calendar and the next time it syncs you'll have those calendars added. You'll even be able to toggle viewing each calendar on and off in the calendar settings on the phone.

Let me know if you can't figure something out with this. Cheers!

Okay so I added a sabres calendar and a sunrise/sunset calendar and then checked my phone... neither was showing up at first. I went into data settings and hit sync now (settings --> data syncronization --> menu ---> sync now) and after a few minutes the sunrise calendar showed up. When I go back into settings the sync icon is still spinning, so it might take a bit for the new calendars to show... I'm going to keep an eye on it's behavior.

DB... I don't see any functional difference between this and outlook, (I've been on winmo/exchange for years) except for the added feature that lets you toggle which calendars you're looking at, which I think is very useful when you need to narrow down what you're looking at. So... what exactly are you complaining about?

alright I've been playing around with it, and I can get any calendar in the "holidays" or "more" category to sync, but nothing in the "sports" category. I'm not sure what's up with that or who to report it as a bug to. I'm going to do some googling to see if this is a known issue or particular to our phones...?

Yeah, I am getting the exact same thing. I can sync with any calendar except for Sports calendars. Let me know what you find. I will do some searching as well.

If I remember correctly the sports calendars wouldn't sync, yet you could import the yahoo ones. You'd have to check out an old thread most likely or one over at the google help forums. It's been awhile. Much easier when you can just copy the csv file and import it.

My problem is I don't want twenty million calendars on my phone. I have enough categories within my work calendar. My personal calendar is just that, and I don't need to "narrow" things down, deactivate this one, activate another and so on. If I have to narrow in on something it's why there is a search feature. Trying to look at a month or week and seeing about 12 different calendar colors is annoying. During season overlaps, I'd have more than four personal calendars going because of three different sports teams on top of holidays and god know what? I have multiples for work already and the rest are personal. It'd be nice if I didn't have to go through google at all, but google is a bit limited when it comes to smartphones so it is what it is.

Ok, here is what I found. Seems like this is a Google calendar issue, not a Samsung or Android issue. I found that some iPhone and Blackberry users were having the same problem with Google calendars. The workaround is to go to a yahoo calendar (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/cle/schedule for example). Click "Add to Calendar" then "Google Calendar". This will add and auto sync properly.
