Cleaning up SD card?

Im pretty sure you dont need the update.zip file after you've run the rooting sequence, all the files were copied into your phone's directory already. The bootanimation.zip is not needed if you ran the:

dd if=/sdcard/bootanimation.zip of=/system/media/bootanimation.zip

Im not sure about movies/ebooks but i put my picutes in the DCIM folder and look for the camera folder, that way all image files are there, and my music goes into the sdcard/music folder.

hope that helps

Yeah, that helps. I didn’t know if the “su” commands when you are installing a new notification bar or boot animation transfers it directly to the phone memory, or if every time it boots up it is reading it from the sd card.

So if I were to delete the apk for notification bar, boot animation zip, etc., completely (or back it up to my PC), I'm not harming the phone?

well i cant guarantee about the notification bar thing, but by running the commands properly when you installed the bootanimation you have copied the customized boot animation into the /system/media folder and that is where your phone pulls it from, so it would be perfectly fine to delete it from sdcard
