Droid Device level Encryption

In order to be allowed to connect my droid to my corporate email, my phone needs to have device level encryption (in case its stolen and stuff.)

I tried googling this and all I came up with was database encryption.

Does anyone know if this is possible with the motorola droid or will be possible in the future?

Thanks

As far as I know there is nothing native for encryption. Further, if they require encryption then they'll require it to have you enter a password to unlock your phone every time you want to use it even for personal use. Are you ready for that?I only know of 3rd party software at the enterprise level (meaning the company would take care of it) for encrypting devices like Trust Digital. Also, encryption *will* slow you device down. That's the second downer.

this is completely correct. the iphone has encryption built into the chipset.. android devices do not.
running into the same exact issue with our exchange admin group.
download touchdown from the market, and you will be able to use that to connect to your corporate email (provided you were previously set up in exchange to allow for 'Windows Mobile email').. however, if the droid is your first device you are attempting to ever use with your corp email then you'll be out of luck.,

get touchdown.
