Help Gallery not seeing my photos

All of a sudden, my Evo started telling me it couldn't find any photos in the HTC Gallery. Any idea what could have caused this or how I can fix it?

Oh, and I can access he photos fine via Astro and on my computer via the USB. When accessing them via Gallery I get a funky icon replacing all the thumbnails and the inability to open a pic. I took some screenshots and posted them on my Posterous:

Android Gallery Error - timmyjohnboy's posterous

Any help would be appreciated!

Is your device plugged into your pc/mac when you are trying to view pictures in the gallery?

Try clearing the gallery application's data... Home screen-> settings-> applications-> manage applications->All-> Gallery-> clear data

Did that already too. I cleared the data and the cache hoping for something but... oh well.

I don't suppose there's a way to reinstall the app is there? It being stock and everything, I assume there's no uninstalling it. The button's grey.

Having the same problem. Gallery app in camera and stand alone just stopped displaying pictures. Pictures are still visible through USB on computer.

Any ideas?

Like I said earlier, one workaround that is working for me is installing another gallery app like "JustPictures!" which is working fine for me.

The funny thing about the whole situation is that some of my most recent photos are showing in the HTC Gallery app. I'm thinking it's the app acting up but I've got no way of reinstalling it unless I want to reset everything to factory but I have NO desire to do that!

Ubuntu, and I've tried both. Like I said, the pics are still there but I just can't open them via HTC's Gallery app.

Are you trying to view pictures on the phone while it's plugged into your desktop and mounted?

Also, when in camera mode - when not connected to a desktop - can you access the gallery and view pics?

It's the second that I'm having trouble with. I was saying that I have no trouble viewing the pictures via my computer and Astro.

I ought to be able to access my pics when I'm in camera mode and I tap the Gallery button on the screen. That's where HTC's Gallery app is telling me there are no photos. This is either when not connected to my computer OR when it's in charge mode only.
