htc advertised time.. 10:08.. why????

some one over on AC posted something interesting..
about htc and their print adds..

random thing about HTC phone's advertising... - Android Forums
"some kid pointed this out on good and evo.... anyone else notice that alot of the HTC phones advertised on print and online list "10:08" as the time?"

i did take a look.. and it is used a lot! not all.. but many htc models show this on official htc fliers.
10:08 is the most
but 10:54 and 10:45 also come up many times too.

why do yo u guys think this???

seriously though, years ago when print ads had analog clocks, it was common practice to place the hands of the clock where it made the clock look like it was "smiling" the brain subconciously interpret that as a positive thing..

Analog clocks are typically displayed at 10:10 because it looks good to the eye to see the Y shape. Also leaving the three sub-dials visible. Perhaps something carried over from that?

Maybe the first designer put 10:08 on it at random, and nobody want to chage it again.

It's guess it's a tradition, like showing 10 past 10 on analogue clocks and watches.

Seiko and Casio have been doing it for decades. Always 10:08.42.

10:08, 8 minutes past 10, is roughly the time analog watches are set to in most advertisements, though actual times shown vary between about 10:08 and 10:10. There are several reasons offered by watch companies, many of them psychological, and none of them verifiable as the actual origin of the practice:

• The form of the hands has a positive effect on the viewer: the short hand pointing at 10 o'clock and the long hand pointing at 8 minutes is reminiscent of a check mark, which commonly means "ok" or "fine." Some observers further identify this appearance with a smiling face.
• The position of the hands does not obscure the date on watches with a date-function at 3 o'clock or any other functions at 9 or 3 o'clock.
• The position of the hands does not obscure the company logo, which is often printed under 12 o'clock.
• The hands are nearly symmetrically balanced on the face of the dial at 10:08. The minute hand is 48
