I am a newb n got this off a tweet from HTC last night and did not know what it meant.

the tweet said "The Android 2.1 SDK is now online and available. Have at it Devs."

It's the Software Development Kit for Android 2.1. Developers need it to start creating apps and such for the Android 2.1 OS.

yea the Eris won't be getting it any sooner than the Hero... it seems like it's mostly dependent on HTC porting Sense to 2.1..

The Droid on the other hand will probably get it soon, as it runs stock Android.
