Best thing you could do with your Ascend.

  1. Custom Recovery.
  2. Cyanogen MOD 6 or 7. (Preferred 7.)
  3. LauncherPro (fastest and easiest launcher on the Ascend.)
  4. DSP Manager > Headset > Enable Equalizer > Raise all the bars to ten. (CM6 or 7 only.)
  5. Dolphin Browser HD.
  6. Advanced Task Manager.
  7. SaveMMS
Pretty basic topic I know but with all of this it keeps my music loud, phone fast, and keeps me happy with my phone.

1-5 I am in full agreement with, 6&7 are completely unneeded as CM6/7 take care of those things integrated.

I agree with all of this but I find that my phone runs better without the task killer.

Don't stone me to death, yes i always say get rid of atk because it only hurts the phone. But i do use something that is borderline like it. AutoKiller Memory Optimizer. Before you get the stones, it does not work like atk. It allows you to adjust the systems own memory management. The app also has extra tweaks to make the system run better. I got it after i had a few force closes when using multiple large apps. I think it helps alot and i have had zero fc's since getting it. Just my 2 cents, I might be a hypocrite.

Damn, that is a nice app. I am usually anti TK's, but it's not really a TK. Either way, I think yo sold me on it. Are you on presets, or on custom settings? What levels are you using?

I started on optimum to test it out but moved up to aggressive. On optimum i usually had 60 mb free and on aggressive it's about 80-90 mb free.
