I really, really like the Evo! Would love to stay. Unfortunately, where I live, just found out, does not have 3G coverage and will NOT be getting 3G coverage and don't even think about 4G. So after 9 years with Sprint, I will be migrating to Verizon. And I really, really like the Evo!! :(

Go here it is a thread on xda with the vzw prls and instructions. There is a rumor that sprint has kicked a few people for using these, A. what would you care if they kick you? you were leaving anyhow besides you dont have a ETF if they kick you, B. You get a warning first to slow down roaming usage, C. I use it all day everday except on wifi and they havent bothered me, you would basically have to live stream movies 24/7 or something apparenty

Basically you download a small file and do a ##prl# and commit the new prl you downloaded and reboot. There are a ton of other prls out there...I keep like 10 on my phone in case one isnt treating me well.

its not to say that the bolt isnt a better phone than the evo though honestly some parts of it felt cheap but then again some parts of the evo do too...however if vzw is gonna cost you a fortune in extra bill then try these prls first...Also if i were to get a phone today, i wouldnt get a phone today lol, i would wait for a dual core phone, my problem with the bolt as i have stated before was that they dropped it a year late...

So get the bolt today, keep it for two years, by that time I'll be on a quad core phone :) and you'll just be ready to get rid of your single core lol...

from what ive been reading, the dual(or any multi) core thing is gonna be a flash in the pan. Memory/processor integration (i think theyre calling it threading) seems to be on the not too distant horizon. making the system memory and processor basically 1 unit as opposed to the current architecture seems to be the solution to excessive power consumption. Now these threadded processor/memory combinations might still be multi core, but the multi core as it stands seems like its going to be overshadowed. I guess we'll just wait n see. But Evom is very right in that buying a new phone right now isnt the best idea in the world, esp an upgraded evo aka thunderbolt (and not very upgraded at that)

yeah, im anxiously awaiting the evo tab.... should be pretty impressive. my quadcore is basically a server and a media center for my livingroom tv, an 88" 720p projector lol oh, and to play video game emulators(which i rarely do) i use my dualcore laptop for most of my computing needs. its over 4 years old but has specs just shy of the laptops out now (besides the new i5 or better lappys)

i played with the iconia and xoom yesterday...like the form of xoom better but its not worth the extra 150 and like pound of weight. Im curious what the dev communities are like though for each. Not much now without HC source but still. The iconia is nice, full usb and sd card support...Im waiting to test the transformer when it hits stores finally in mid may to make my decision. I think its the one i want but i need to play with it first. Similar specs to iconia and xoom, but better screen like an ipad and 50 bucks cheaper than the iconia...plasticy though...
