Out with the old, in with the new. Any problems with the N1?

So i just sold the old mytouch. It was a good phone for the time being. Figured it was time to get the "latest and greatest." Now im moving on to the nexus one.

Is there anybody that is experiencing problems with their N1? Let me know if im making the right choice here to go with the nexus or if i should wait for something else.

Also, is there any good cases for the N1 so i can protect it when i get it?
Any help would be appreciated.

I've only had mine for 6-8 hrs... its great though.. battery life seems worse than the mytouch3g (which i owned for about two weeks before returning) but i'm also doing alot more with it already. Its fast and very responsive noticeably so from the mytouch, but the mytouch was still pretty useable. So far no issues like dust etc.. battery life *could* be though.. but I've also been using it alot so I'd say its pretty good for the use.

I did have one issue but it might've been sipdroid, where my home screen didn't show anything.. no apps shown.. turned off and on the phone.. fixed it.

I think it does have *some* issues in some areas where the wireless signal is sort of weak. A room in my parents house.. and I've had it go from 3g to gprs, then to edge to 3g on my while driving but that could also be a dead spot. This is likely going to be fixed via OTA update.

Great app is the google sky map.. it.. just put a smile on my face in its awesomeness. I can litterally aim it at a part of the sky and as i move it, the map moves, and tells me what stars or planets i'm looking at.. changes with your location. Its a really cool virtual reality ish app and its f-ing great.

I'm probably going to buy this: FOR GOOGLE NEXUS ONE BLACK SILICONE SOFT GEL PHONE CASE - eBay (item 130360200812 end time Jan-18-10 22:20:15 PST)

Someone mentioned it in another thread, i think it was on here. Also looks like seidio is making a screen protector... it sucks cause its hard to take out of but you'll be ok for a few days in the case it comes with if you're diligent enough to put it back in it and are careful on taking it out.

Fast processor, nice screen, so far acceptable battery life, latest android updates and a couple of cool accessories in the works (car dock, regular dock) I'd say i'm definitely keeping it.

Also I'm not sure if this was in 1.5 but facebook contacts syncing up with my contacts and allowing me to show them or hide them at any point is cool too. Only adds information when the first and last name match.. really really nice. Too many people on your friends list.. go through your contacts and rename everyone to their first and last name that you have (or i guess want) on your phone.. enable the sync on facebook, then disable and all the ones you don't want disappear with everyone else's info having their profile pics in, emails, IM, etc... link to their profile.. its pretty sweet.

I love mine. With all my heart and soul. Seriously, this kind of love for a gadget should be illegal. But I've come from an old school Samsung SGH-D900, so smartphones are new and exciting.

I've had zero problems with battery life. I drain my battery to yellow at around 5pm with frequent emailing/texting/browsing/gaming, and that's after charging for a couple of hours to get it to ~90% before I go to bed the night before. I just turn my settings to 2G only, disable sync and wifi etc, basically just leave it in basic phone only mode whilst I sleep and it'll have used about 3-5% just sitting there. So yeh, no problems there. Oh, and I keep my display at the lowest brightness most the time, except when playing Mystique (awesome game) when it needs a bit of extra light.

Screen is very pretty, if a little smeared with fingerprints. All touch responses for me are perfect. No problems with touch screen. Every thing is all very smooth and fast.

This is a great idea, you're right, but mine has gone very iffy. Because I synced with facebook and the online google contacts (which I had spent a little time adding people to with birthdays and email addresses and whatnot), people who were both on facebook and in google contacts ended up displaying 2 birthday fields on the phone, both with the same date. Or even 3 copies if I had made the mistake of entering them in manually before syncing. Nice feature though.

i'm at 7h35m right now with 27% left... GPS and WiFi off (on for about 15min while surfing) screen at about 10-15% brightness.... includes about 1.5hrs of Pandora... biggest contributors right now are display (43%)... cell standby (34%)... next is Android System (5%)...

you guys consider this "normal"?

Well considering that you used the pandora for 1.5 hours (which pandora usually is good on batteries) you seem to be normal. I know wifi does drain that quite a bit and the display. But i mean it all comes down to how much you have actually used the phone. (such as texting, calling, etc..)
