What Will You Do With Your Sprint HTC Hero After It Is Retired?

A lot of Sprint HTC Hero owners will be shifting over to the Sprint HTC EVO 3D soon, so I figured I would create a thread asking those people what they will do with their Sprint HTC Hero handsets after they retire them from service? I asked someone this somewhere else and thought I would make it into an entire thread of its own since it pertains to many of our loyal members here.

I think I will continue to use mine as a personal media player, and I will, of course, still continue to mess with custom ROMs on it. I want to see if it will get Ice Cream Sandwich. My Sprint HTC Hero has a lot of life left in it, so it can still be put to good use in many ways. I will consider it the elder brother of my Sprint HTC EVO 3D when I get it. :D

And the funny part is I have one on order from the Sprint store and do not want to cancel it until I get home to make sure there is nothing wrong with the one they shipped me, LOL

DAMN - I should have ordered it.....I am waiting until FRIDAY to pick mine up.....
ARGHHHH -
This is going to be the longest 2 days of my life.....

Mine will be Mp3 and wifi toy...
Wife wants a new phone....and seeing my new one will drive her bonkers

That is exactly correct, sir. That is the situation that I am in too. :D

She is not interested in the Sprint HTC EVO 3D and she wants a different handset than me. I may end up just waiting until the prices drop on the older 4G handsets. :(

I'm in the opposite boat with the wife, she used her upgrade over a month ago for the Epic. I'm holding out and waiting to see which I will prefer over the 3D or Galaxy II.

However instead of leaving the Hero I just got mine passed down from my brother who went with that double screened Echo thing, by the looks of the abuse his Hero took, I have no doubts that the screens will not last him 2 years.

She Likes THe Keyboard....so thinking Shifty!
ANYTHING will be an ungrade from her intercept....

I honestly thought my wife would have wanted that too since she was coming from a Sprint Palm Pre which also has a hardware keyboard. But, nope, she wants to use a virtual keyboard.

Sort of a shame as the CPU in the Sprint HTC EVO Shift 4G is really nice and overclockable. The only downside I could see is that it does not have a front facing camera.

Yep, I'm liking the FFC for the Evo, nice when I'm at work or my wifes at work then we can make a Tango or Qik call for the little ones:D

I was a doing some work the other day on one of my buildings and I got a Tango call from my wife. I was 2 1/2 stories up on a ladder and there's my 3 month old son rolling over for the first time. Priceless:D:D:D:D Got to love technology:)

That is awesome, man. That sort of example is what I was trying to use when explaining the front facing camera to my wife. At first, she thought it was some creepy spying mechanism. No joke. :D

My wife and I will probably be starting a family of our own soon enough. Having the front facing camera would be ideal for situations where one parent is away but would like to see their kids and vice versa. :)
