Are there still no calendar apps for Android that can sync to an external CalDAV (non Google) calendar?

This is absolutely essential for corporate use, and something the iPhone has had from day 1.

I just wish Google would release the source code to the default Calendar app, so I could hack it in myself. I just don't have the time to implement a fully working calendar from scratch...

Couldn't you set up two appointments that both trigger monthly? One triggers on the 1st week of the month every month, and the second triggers on the 3rd week of the month, every month.

Well, that's not the same as "every two weeks" -- I think the poster was asking for "every second Tuesday" and not "1st and 16th of every month." (If you were being paid every two weeks and your company wanted to switch to paying you the same amount twice a month, I think you'd be upset -- you'd be missing out on two paychecks a year.)

OK ppl I have and am using some of the apps suggested and I love the look BUT what I am looking for is an app that changes the hideous defuault calendar I am forced to use when I add new events. Is there an app out there that replaces the default not just the look. I want it to look nice and look nice while I'm making edits or adding events.
Is this too much to as for? Or am I missing some thing? I use Calendar Pad and Calwidget.

Alright, I must confess, the 1st time I read thru this string I was a bit in a hurry. I have since read every post & tried most of the recommended apps. My conclusion:
IMHO at this point Cal pad and calwidget are the best options for me. I was just frustrated because, like many of you, I wanted 1 app or widget to do it all. Thus making me search for a repplacement default calendar (which is just not needed if we could find the perfect 1 app\widget) or if we just continue to use the two I currently use.

I think we should continue to do what we do here (some real good help\ideas floating around) AND we need to email the devs and let them know exactly what we are looking for PLUS we should leave helpful reviews or comments at the market (esp. on the paid apps) to let other prespective users the pros and cons of said app. I can't begin to tell you how many times a well written comment has helped me to decideyes or no on an app.

Just saying, "this app sucks", doesn't help anyone. LOL!

All I want in a calendar app: when you set an appointment for 10:30 and add a 5 minute reminder, that the alarm goes off at 10:25 AND at 10:30 (the actual appointment time), and continues to go off every 5 minutes until it's shut off without having to hit the snooze button.

I'd be willing to live with everything else about that calendar app as it is.

How could the built-in calendar possibly have been released in a state where you set an appointment for 10:30 and nothing happens at 10:30?

I read through all the posts, and couldn't find a duplicate issue like the one that I am having. I have (of course) the main 'default' calendar on my moto droid which is attached to my 'personal' gmail account. I also have the pure calendar widget which is everything I want/need for a quick view of appointments etc. (also is working great with sweeter home)
Here is my issue:
I can't seem to be able to add my business gmail calendar account.
This is what I've found. When I go into my calendar settings, I can add an account, which the only drop down is the weather account.
Looking further into the matter, I went into system settings, account sync and added my business gmail account here.
Now this is the part where it gets a bit tricky.
On my 'personal' gmail account I can sync contacts, calendar & gmail.
On my 'business' gmail account, I only have the option to sync my contacts and gmail.
I don't know why the calendar feature isn't there, but it's been erking me for a little while now.
What I'm looking for is the calendar that will have both my personal and business events and appointments in one single calendar.
The perfect example I am looking for is iCal. If you are a mac user, you know that everything is right there, color coded for my viewing ease.
Could someone please help me with what I may have missed, or a new app that will allow this to happen?

The android app Calendar Pad has been upgraded, and it has also fixed the "weird silver line" on N1.

The developers has also released a "pro" version, with color customization and Calendar settings. Not sure whether I'll by it or not, but even without the Pro the upgrade seems to be great.

Confirmed that the odd graphic across the top is now gone.

The app also now has a replacement for the standard day view that you can choose to use or not: the whole day fits on one screen, with blocks from 00-06, 06-09, 09-12, 12-15, 15-18, and 18-24. Events are shown as vertical lines along the left side, labeled with start and end times; all-day events appear at the top on the right side. It's a much more useful organization than the native view that has one-hour blocks and requires scrolling to see the whole day.

I personally use Agenda Widget. I've tried all the free ones, CalWidget, the one that comes with the built-in calendar, and the one that comes with Touchdown (I have to have this to replace my blackberry, great app just wish it didnt' cost $20), etc., and I've found Agenda Widget to have the best combination of East of Use, Looks, Free, and customization.
