Upcoming Phones

So here we are, the galaxy nexus has been announced, the droid Razr has been announced, and there are rumors of the htc incredible hd/vigor/rezound.

Somehow I am still not satisfied.

What I have gathered:
Galaxy Nexus- Looks good, they really sold it at the annoucement event, BUT after people have stripped it down: it has an older processor,the rear camera is only 5mp (wtf) though I do realize that its the sensor that can make or break the camera as well as the software, the screen ends up having the same number of subpixels as the iphone 4s, the screen has so many pixels that the processor is strained as a result benchmark results are anything but extraordinary. Im loving the ICS and the whole look and feel of the phone though.

Droid Razr- looks awesome, sounds like really good materials were used for its construction (kevlar), but the screen is not as good as it could be (resolution wise), has the same processor as galaxy nexus, the benchmarks are alright, but it has an old version of android and will have the b.s. motoblur crap, and probably a locked bootloader.

the rumors of the rezound/vigor/incredible hd seem to peg it right around the other two, but probably without ICS also.


Soooo, is it too much to ask for a phone that has all the specs and then can perform at the highest level also?

Can anyone help me and point me towards other rumors of upcoming superphones?

You do realize that the processor in the Galaxy Nexus is brand new right? The Gpu is a little dated but it is clocked very high so it may not benchmark as well but you will not run into any problems with it. You are also complaining about a higher resolution screen found in any Android device so far. The benchmarks we have seen so far have been run on very early ics builds. They have been far from stable and we really have nothing to worry about.

The Razr is running the same processor as the Bionic and not the TI 4460 found in the Nexus. The screen on it is going to be the best one Motorola has used probably ever.

The Rezound will probably be about the same as the Razr. If I had to choose between the 2 I would go with the Rezound. Either way the Nexus is going to be the phone to have until other native ics phones are released next year and they may or may not have oem skins and a ton of bloatware.

thank you for your input... you think that the benchmarks are low on the nexus because of the overclocked gpu?

do you think that at initial release, with a more stable and reliable ICS the benchmarks will be better?

has anyone heard of other upcoming superphones like these?

No, the benchmarks are low because they are not running a version of ics that is ready for release. A Galaxy S II might benchmark better because the resolution is a hell of a lot lower and the Gpu is better. Unless you are playing games that really graphic intensive you will probably wont even see any difference.

I would not worry about it. The Galaxy Nexus is more then capable and its going to be a great phone. The phone is built for ics so its going to run well.

With all of these new phones coming out, what does it take for Verizon to release a 4G global (GSM capable) Android phone? Surely, I can't be the only one holding out for such a device.
