Root [KERNEL]SpeedDemon V5.6 (Performance & Battery Improvements) - MIUI Kernel

I just flashed the Kernel and got a quadrant score of 3249 at 1.4ghz with smartassv2!

Yeah, Lagfree and Minmax will be in V1.5, also with being able to undervolt to 65hz, maybe a couple other things while im at it. I was thinking of changing to ext2, since ext2 is like 200 - 400 quadrant scores higher than ext4, and ex2 feels smooth, but ext2 is dangerous if you do battery pull...

I'll be working on V1.5 tonight, as for right now, its relaxing time.

65hz? 65 hz!!! I can't wait to try this out!

Edit: I'd stick with ext4. Yes, ext2 might be faster and smoother, but we all have those moments when we need to do a battery pull, especially with a ROM in development/alpha/beta stage.

Yes, I think so. Anytime you don't power down normally(pull battery, reboot, reboot-to-recovery option, and phone go dead), but the performance is greatly improved compared to ext4, and ext3(stock triumph).

Its like this, worst to best in performance,
RFS > ext3 > ext4 > ext2

hmm if Isaac releases that new build with 30mb less usable memory then this would seem to boil down to security (ext4) or performance (ext2)

Then again we haven't tried it yet its a tuff decision IMO but im leaning more to ext2

Reboot to recovery wont corrupt data because it goes through the shutdown process and syncs all writes. So does reboot. Now battery pull and shutdown from freezing can potentially cause data corruption but I have never had a problem on any phone and God knows I have pulled the battery and had random reboots enough!

But why is Isaac reallocating the ram to give the user less memory on miui? It wont be that big of a deal though!

To enable better gaming capabilities.

Also, there was this app, you used it in bROM for intercept, that did quick reboots and quick reboot to recovery's, and it doesn't go through the shutdown process. So i'm thinking all reboot doesn't go through shutdown process...

Edit: b_randon if you keep saying ' I have never had a problem on any phone and God knows I have pulled the battery and had random reboots enough! ' to much, then people will start using ext2 and will not worry about data corruption. When it's still fully possible, it's good to stretch warning when there is a 50% chance...

mostly on HD games but will 30mb really affect the phones performance? he said you wont see the loss on the software side

Yeah well they way mantera made the reboot recovery mod for our phones it goes through the shutdown process. Now that app(quick boot) does not do this. And yes I understand data corruption is possible. I have disclaimers on my kernel page, that is why I include all the information. I do not make anyone use my stuff, and if someone doesn't like the way its built, move along to something else. I make stuff for me like I like it, and share it to see if anyone else does. I provide information on the risks, its not my fault that people don't heed my warnings and consider there options.

I cannot be responsible for something someone else does. Just because I say that I haven't had a problem with ext2, I say it because just that, I haven;t had a problem with ext2. If I said "there is no way for data corruption with ext2", or "it is highly unlikely data corruption will happen with ext2" then it would be different. And anyone with an intercept knows ext2 is a pretty good filesystem.

On another note, battery pulls aren't good for your phone regardless of what filesystem your on. That's why its not even good on windows using ntfs which is a very robust journaled filesystem. Doing a hard shutdown can cause data corruption on any filesystem regardless.

So isaac is giving more memory to the gpu or somthing?

I wouldn't think 30mb would make all to much of a difference!

Thanks minus, it means a lot to me to see people happy with what I put together. Its a OC kernel, and UV kernel, with added features.
And yes, you did say it right, Austrie is pronounced [Us - tree].
~~~
I added the new features in V1.5 to the list of features. I was added BFQ(Its a I/O scheduler) to the list but i'm having problems with it in, so ignore it. Im going to take it off the list. I might put BFQ in one of the next versions. V1.5 scores should be a bit higher than V1.2.
I'm curious as to whether anyone else is having the same issues as me since flashing the 1.2 kernel. Previously I was on mOCk's and I decided to give this one a try and everything went fine, followed all the steps, except now my Live Wallpaper no longer works. I just have a black screen for wallpaper. Tried setting it to something else and then changing it back but still get the same thing.
i'm currently using your 1.2 and have the day off. would love to test out v1.5 for ya. i've also been testing out voltage limits. and have been finding some nice undevolting settings that seem pretty darn stable. also i've noticed that with the savaged-zen/interactivex govs vs. the smartassv2/smoothass govs i pull about 15 fps higher on the DNA strand quadrant video with the smartv2/smooth then i do with the savaged/interx. (roughly 25 fps savaged-zen/interactivex, and roughly 40fps with smartv2/smooth
