100% free voip app like talkatone

thanks Hiwatt.

I will download both to have a couple of options when traveling. when I hit the american border, i can keep my 3g usage to emergency only and still have full functionality of my phone/tablet/computer!

Your name taken from the amp line?

Yup, long time Hiwatt player!

Good luck with it! If it makes any difference, I uninstalled Nettalk this morning. The inability to adjust the settings along with the lag/delay made it unusable.

GrooveIP. App costs $4.99 (or $1.99 when it goes on sale at Amazon), but after that it's free.

another + for GrooveIP
I just downloaded GrooveIP the other night and it works. I mainly got if for when I go to remote locations that dont have any cell coverage, but wifi is available. my wife likes to hear from me daily to make sure im ok, and sometimes driving 20 to 50 miles to get into cell range is a pain. She does not want an email so this will work out great.

I'm gonna go on the record and say that I like Viber. Frankly, I think it sounds better than Groove IP and certainly better than Nettalk. It also seems to work well on 3G and sound excellent over wifi. The only downside (if it's really a downside) is the client must be installed on the person's phone you're calling. That doesn't seem like a big deal to me though. When I installed it, it found 10 other people in my contacts already using it. You can sms and mms with it as well. There's no ads. If there's a downside to Viber, let me know what it is. I haven't found one yet.
