So tonight as I was in the middle of using my phone with what appeared to some charge on the battery, it randomly shut off on me and every time I tried to turn it back on, it just kept on vibrating. I plugged it into the wall charger and it kept on vibrating until I plugged it into my computer where now it is turning on, but it said my battery was at 0% and then it shut off on me again a couple more times. I then decided to hard reset the phone because it could have been from apps or whatever else so I wanted a fresh start. Now after being plugged in a little, my phone says it is charging but I don't know if the battery really is charging or whats going on with it. I have it on my computer still and I am able to send messages and phone calls which is good. I got it the first day it came out and once or twice it restarted on me but not to this extent and I was immediately able to turn it back on without having to plug it back into the computer. I'm not sure what to do. I am out of my ability to return it, but I bought a protection plan from where I got my phone so I will either have to enact that or go through samsung. Is this a common issue? Will it happen again or will a software update help or maybe even a new battery? Or worse yet, new phone which is what I essentially have now, whomp whomp :(.

The symptoms you mentioned occur when the battery is dead.

It could be a bad battery, but it sounds like it is just dead.

Keep in mind it is supposedly (read it somewhere) really really bad to let these batteries run completely down like that on a regular basis.

Try and charge them more regularly at multiple levels

I had the same thing occur. It happened to me for the first time about a week ago and then happened again last night. Both times, the only way to get it to turn back on was to plug it into a charger. Both times I had three quarters of a battery and it shut off. When it turned back on after being plugged in for a few minutes, it showed zero battery. I hope there is a fix as I really don't want to be without my phone.

There's something horribly wrong with this phones ability to accurately report battery charge levels. Most people get stuck at 100% charge first thing after fully charging the unit. I haven't seen many people get stuck at other levels.

There have been a few, but more getting stuck at 100%

There is a theory that it is cable related and another that it is charger

Recently someone posted it is actually a bad battery triggered by the cable and or charger

Regardless...it is an issue and should be addressed at your local att store or Samsung

Having the same problem.

I've only used the stock charger and hadn't used my phone pretty much all day.. I just used it for about 5 minutes and all the sudden it shut off on me. Now it's not turning on...

From what I have read this is a battery issue.

Midiman is currently conducting a test

I work as a sales rep in MO for AT&T and the skyrocket is my company device. I had this happen to me two days after having it then a week later and then 3 days after that which was last night. It also happened to one of our display phones. It will just vibrate if you try to turn it on and will only turn on when it is plugged into the computer. I believe it is a issue with the phone not the batteries or chargers bc happenbed to me 3 times and a display phone as well when that phone just charges all day long
