I have just bought my first smartphone and I need some help in understanding what I think is a problem ( please forgive my lack of in-depth phone knowledge!). My notification panel shows that Application Updates(2/2) have been downloaded but they are not installing- the status bar is active showing that they are installing but it never completes. There is no indication as to which application this refers to. Can anyone help?

Hello and welcome to the forums hojdas - thanks for joining!!

If you go on to the market and hit "menu", then select "my apps", you will be taken to a list of installed apps and, at the top of the list, should be any apps that have updates available.

If you try this, and hit "update" for any that need updating, let us know if this sorts your problem out... we can then look at sorting you out a little further! :)

I have solved this now-I decided to try simply removing and re-inserting the battery and it worked. I think that it must have got stuck trying to install an app that I had already deleted

hello and welcome to the forums
i hav download from market on my mobile games, apps ,widgets, etc
after downloads completes its gone its wont installing
i have rooted and unable to install any apps
pls help..
Android no longer uses Google Market. When you open Google Market it should automatically update to Google Play. If you live in a restricted market like China, then Google Market will not automatically update and you won't be able to install apps.

So what you need to do is to find and manually install Google Play which will require that your phone is rooted. Even then, if you are in a restricted market, I don't know what you will be able to install.

Hope that helps!
