Are you sure it's not being saved to the internal sd card and you're just looking at the ext sd card?

There's the internal storage, which I think is what is considered the phone storage and is a partition on the internal sd card, then the internal sd card which is the second partition on that sd card, then the external sd card which is one partition.

So most stuff gets written to the internal sd card unless you tell it to go to the external. In Root Explorer the internal sd card shows as sdcard and the external as sdcard2. In ES File explorer the external shows up as ext_sd.

I also want to know exactly HOW to transfer files into the SD Card.

I know this is probably thee dumbest question, but how and where exactly (what folder) do I put the mp3 and mp4 files in (Win7) Explorer?

Whenever I plug in my phone --> PC, there are two autoplay runs that pop up: 1)HTC Storage (L); & 2)Removable Disk (K).

L drive contains the ext_sd folder and this is where I initially transferred all the media files from PC-->Phone. However, the native music player (gotta try the Beats Audio!) can't find the files in the Library.

I'd really appreciate it if someone(s) can provide a link that can walk me (us?) through this or if anyone has the time to explain this process. It would help so much :)

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I think I know the problem. Don't save to the "HTC Storage Drive" (L) drive. I'm supposed to put all files on the "Removable Disk" (K) drive.

It's pretty confusing because there are 3 autoruns that immediately popup on the PC and at first, I wasn't sure which one to choose. So... I'm guessing we're saving all these files in the Internal (Phone's) card, NOT the external one?

Is there a way to save files to the external SD card and have the phone read from there? Eh. I'm happy with this way. Probably simpler :)

Oh & The Beats is nice! A Flock of Seagulls never sounded better ;D

Maybe this will help.

When you tether your phone to your computer there are three storage folders listed. The drive designation can be different depending on your personal set-up so I'm just using X, Y, Z but here is a quick way to tell the difference.

CD Drive (X) CDROM is the internal phone system storage. It is full and locked.

HTC Storage (Y) is the internal user available storage that the phone uses for certain files automatically. You have access to about 10 Gig.

Removable Disk (Z) is the SD Card storage. This is about 16 Gig.

When you connect to the computer use the Removable Disk storage for your files. I have found that the directory structure is somewhat important in that the phone default looks for music in the music folder for example and pictures in the dcim folder. Organize the directory folders as you would on any computer.

Hope this helps!
