Battery change delete anything?

Hi All.......what happens to everything when one changes a battery in a SGP4? Is any data or setup stuff lost?.......any change at all? Any special precautions before doing it?

No problem. Just turn the phone off first, remove the old battery, install the new one, and power up. The memory chips in the SGP, and all smartphones also, don't require any power to maintain their data.

speaking about batteries what do all of us that have the sgp 5.0 do when the battery dies and wont take a charge, as it is not removable.
has anyone thought about that?
on my cell phone the battery died after about 2-3 years of charging it maybe 3 times a week. i think we are all charging the battery on our sgp 5.0 more than three times a week. at that rate the battery will probally be no good after a year or two. do we send them back to samsung or is there a store that can change the battery or what? anybody have a plan

That bothered me too, brosko. I see a few ways to look at it.

1) By the time the batteries begin to go south, the SGP will be ready to be replaced by newer technology. If I had the money to throw around, I'd probably do this...but I don't. So I'd be left to do #2 or #3.
2) By then someone will post the method for opening up the SGP and replacing the battery. Hopefully a battery for the SGP5 will be available. There are already YouTube videos on replacing the SGP4 battery.
3) By that time there will, hopefully, be vendors who will, for a fee, replace your battery for you.

I think it was a major oversight that Samsung didn't allow for easy battery replacement in the SGP5. Then again, they don't seem to care much that they have a very viable competitor for the iPod. They could have kicked some serious butt if they had marketed it better. But there's no use in crying over spilled milk, as they say. I'm happy I have an SGP5 and am thoroughly enjoying it every day.

I heard that making the battery non removable they can better form fit the battery to the inside of the player, essentially stuffing more battery in less space. This is what makes for such great battery life on the sgp5. but I think that we will unfortunately see that batteries start to go bad rather soon.

Also my girlfriend has the sgp4 and it does have a removable battery but it seems to get much less battery life. Also seems to get slightly better wifi reception and has a much crisper screen for whatever its worth
