How do i use that internet without wifi

I have a samsung galaxy ace
when out yesterday i had to connect to wifi to get the internet
on my contract i have free internet access
i have just changed to this phone
so how do i use my phone internet without going through wifi
PLEASE HELP

Go to settings-wireless and networks-movile networks and tick the packet data option. Tell me if it does not work and I will tell you another method.

Hi, it's quicker just to long press the power on/off button on the side - & press "data network mode". Use this method to turn data on/off quickly. Hope this helps. Graham

Thanks, it still didn't work!
But then I realised that I didn't have the right APN set up.
Got it all fixed now though, and at least I know the right way to turn it on and off!!

Try to turn off wifi ... If WiFi is turned on, does not use packet data

It doesn't work on my pocket.. Do you have more ideas for samsung pocket?

when I am in my house I use my phone through my house wifi {no problem} but I was out and about the other day and the phone was looking for my home wifi and I could not get on line ..I have 1 GB of Internet with my package but as yet when I am out and about I cant use it ..how do I set this function up and will it cost me anything my wifes blackbury will work anywhere ..what am I doing wrong I am not very techy so plain English please thanks
