5.0 screen material

The SGP screen is indeed glass...Gorilla Glass...made by Corning, I believe. It is harder and smoother than regular glass, so it resists scratching. It CAN be scratched, but not as easily as standard glass. It also resists cracking. It CAN be cracked, but not as easily as standard glass.

If you're one of those people that is careful with your devices, you will likely not have any damage issues. If not, you might want to get a screen protector to help prevent scratching. Personally, I don't use one.

Do you have a reliable source for this? I don't believe this is true. Samsung cut every corner possible on this device and have never mentioned Gorilla Glass. They have always mentioned Gorilla Glass when it is included. It's a fine screen, but I'm very skeptical that it is Gorilla Glass.

I admit I didn't have an official source. I should have said "I think it's Gorilla Glass". I read a few reviews that said it was GG, and haven't seen any that said it was definitely was not GG. IMHO, just because Samsung, and Corning, haven't made statements one way or the other, doesn't prove the case either way. In any case, the screen seems to be unusually durable, and smooth to the touch. Whatever it is, I like it a lot.

As far as cutting corners in the manufacturing...who doesn't? Nowadays the design, and manufacturing, processes seem to be governed by accountants. The perception of quality seems to be more important than actual quality. :(

Anyway...I apologize if I mislead anyone.
