Quality Android Pc Tablet from China

Moved thread into General Tablet Talk.

First of all, most tablets are made in China(PRC}, some might be made in South Korea or Taiwan, but that's it. AFAIK non are made in the USA. However if you're thinking of buying something from a brand you've never heard of or has no brand at all, and it's coming directly from China, don't do it. Go to Best Buy or something and buy your tablet there.

only buy from a US sellers that test and mods them to work right and offers a good long warranty like FLsuperstore.com

elated with my china tab

I couldn't find the tablet that you have in your signature on the FLsuperstore website. Do you know if they currently carry it? I'm looking for an inexpensive 8"-10" tablet for me to take to meetings and take notes on, and to let my kids watch videos for longer car rides.

Anyone else have any suggestions on a decent inexpensive tablet?

Thanks

FLss has the Eken T01 now which is a tad better with a full size USB port, but is the same tablet. Frank is a great guy to deal with and johnny on the spot to answer questions.

use this code for a %5 discount "SLATE"

[I got the T02 as I was in a hurry and didn't want to wait for the T01 to come in and I didn't need full size USB. But its the same tablet.]

It will be the best $100 you ever spent.

He is very honest when he says that the T01 is better then most of the other tablets he sells for more and I would agree 100%.

Thank you! Do you know if they carry a 8-10" equivalent of the T01? I was really hoping for something a little bigger than the 7". Thanks!

I need your opinion on tablet pc android made in China.
My question, does the same quality from other countries .. made from the U.S.??

This question is confusing. You mean the same brand, same model tablet PC made in China and made in U.S. ?
China has some tablet PC in good quality, some in so so quality.
You can compare several models. and search other people's comment.

I have to concur with Mikedt. Buy local, from a source where your money and your consumer rights are protected. The Chinese market is saturated with copycat companies that operate almost sweatshop factories producing products that, on the surface, appear to be the same as more expensive and competing products. However, the quailty and source of the components and assembly can be, literally, garbage; with no potential to upgrade the firmware even if it works more than six months. Hence the advice to buy from a source where your purchase is protected.

I live in China and bought an Onda - one of the upcoming Chinese brands. It crapped out, and the replacement was DOA - so far 5 weeks and counting; probably at least another two weeks before they supply another replacement - and that's with an official receipt from an official reseller dealing direct with the factory! You get what you pay for and, in China, often less.

Excellent advice David, that should be heeded by anyone wishing to be cheap and buying one of these things.

Trouble with the name Onda, sounds too much like Honda, especially when said by cockneys "Bought a used 'onda from a geezer in a pub....only cost me a monkey...good innit?"

BTW I kind of like how the words "Quality Android Tablet" and "China" sit together in thread's title. It's rather an oxymoron I think.

^ except everything is made in China, even the so called name brands. crack one open and research where the PCB parts came from.

Agreed. However, there's a world of difference between a foreign built and controlled factory and a Chinese one. Quality control in raw materials, design, and production is of a very high standard and that's why they usually cost more.

The Chinese copycat factories will resource "b" and "c" grade components - whatever is cheapest this week - and sling them into an assembly workshop with absolutely no concern about anything other than shifting product.

It's a fascinating country to live in and, for my part, a very complex and often frustrating experience, but an experience worth having.

Haha! I'm from Essex, and this raised a chuckle. It's better now, but when I first searched "Onda Vi40", Google returned lot's of "Honda Vi" car links. :D

Indeed! :)

Exactly... There'a a world of difference between let's say Foxconn assembling tech products for Apple, Dell, Sony, HP, etc. Or something like Shenzhen Acme Cheapo Crap Ltd. that grabs some chipset reference design. Then hurriedly throws something together from poor quality components in a bit of rented factory space, with little or no regard for QA.

It's a fascinating country to live in and, for my part, a very complex and often frustrating experience, but an experience worth having.

David.

Same here.
