I think Gaming Consoles are dying out now. I think the new revolution in technology belongs to the Smart Phone era. So much has happened over the past two years with Smart Phones; the industry moves a lot faster than the Gaming Industry does. However, when a new gaming console comes out, the level of technology seems to surpass anything even imaginable.

That's just my two cents.

Sorry but I 100% disagree. I think PC gaming may be slowly dying, but console gaming is constantly growing. XB360/PS3/WII sales are through the roof, and in more homes than ever. They're constantly expanding the social/gamer boundaries, not to mention becoming media centers.

They're growing faster than mobile gaming still, for sure. Although Mobile Gaming is starting to get a foothold. They may be moving faster, but they're still not as big for the "constant" user. People may be playing a TON of mobile games, but very few people play exclusively on that, and it will be a lONG time before they can come anywhere NEAR as close to the power of a xb360/wii/ps3 in a compact design.

so what i am about to post has no evidence at all and I really dont feel like looking into it that much, but ill post what ive heard anyways. I heard or read somewhere... I dont really remember... that microsoft is probably going to just be releasing some kind of add on or update for the 360s because of how often the 360s broke down... take that and do what you want with it...

I couldn't disagree with more. I agree the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 have life in them yet, but to suggest they are dying out is ridiculous. There is too much money and demand in the business, a next generation console has to arrive, be it in 2012, or 2015.

I wonder what the PS4 will look like whenever it decides to come out :D

Plenty of suggested concepts being posted around the net...

We have the original XBox, Wii and I just got a PS3 for Christmas. It's unfortunate that I despise Sony and Microsoft so much, because they put out some awesome looking games. I believe my son will be getting a 360 for his birthday this summer (so he can play Fable 2 ). My wife is tired of hearing him beg for one....LOL. He's a good kid who gets good grades, so the begging really has no influence on our decision to buy him one.

I can't see consoles going anywhere either, but I would love to see improvements continue on the mobile side of the spectrum.
