Wait or switch?

Hello all, new to the forums here and I am just trying to get as many opinions as possible.

I have had an upgrade from Verizon to get a new phone for quite a long time now. The Droid X I have has been giving me more and more problems each day, and I am really thinking about making a switch. However, I can't decide if I want to switch now and get the Razr Maxx (first choice) or wait until more phones come out.

If you were in my shoes, where you had an upgrade and a barely working phone, would you..

-Switch now to a Razr Maxx or other 4G phone?
-Wait it out for a newer phone to release/wait for the iPhone 5?
-other idea?

Thank you

Welcome to AF rdc! :D

Given my opinion is bias and many you get here may be I would not suggest waiting for the iPhone 5 ;) unless you want to try iOS, if you want to stick with Android the Maxx, Gnex, and Rezound are all still viable options IMO. You could wait to see what VZW will be releasing soon...I believe they will have a response to the Note with a larger screen than they currently offer.

Personally, I would wait, but my "X" is doing just fine. But..... if I were in your shoes, I would go with the Maxx, mostly because of the battery and 4G. However, if you can milk your "X" along just a little, we may hear something soon regarding a new phone, seeing as how they just dropped the price $100 on the Maxx. My theory being they may be trying to reduce invertory to make room for the next big thing. Then again, only you can make that decision because only you know if you can put up with a phone that's acting up.

Good luck, whatever you do,

If you're willing to gamble a little you can pick up a used Rezound fairly inexpensively and use it until the next wave of new devices comes out (summer/fall?). Then you can use your upgrade on the latest and hopefully greatest. You might even do okay selling the Rezound.

I don't recommend the Galaxy Nexus but many love it. I am looking to replace mine with Moto's next release which will hopefully come with an HD screen and ICS of course!

Personally I would wait for the S III. However, you said getting the MAXX is your first choice so if that's the phone you want, go grab one. The only even rumored phones coming up for VZW are the Incredible 4G (well that one's official), the S III, the Droid Fighter (a MAXX variation) and one hint of a Note. If any of those interest you, maybe wait but if they don't u might as well get the MAXX.

And like someone in here said, you won't get many suggestions for the iPhone 5... Android is much better!

Im in the same boat as op. getting tired of my tbolt and like the battery of razr maxx. Id also like a stronger 4g connection but from what ive heard the maxx's reception isnt great on 4g? Im also thinkung if i waited a month the price might drop again or maybe an amazing new android phone? On the other hand losing unlimited data is NOT an option for me

I firmly believe we will know when any policy change will take effect prior to as VZW has confirmed they will make an announcement before the fact so you should be safe waiting for now, just pay attention to your favorite Android news outlet...like www.phandroid.com

Shameless plugs FTW
