Pictures not in folder?

So I have been trying to figure this out, but I'm so confused. For the past few days, the pictures I have been taking are not found on the folder on my android device. However, when I click on Gallery, I can see it and everything. Also, when I plug in my phone to my laptop, I am able to see the picture file that I took from my phone. It's just when I try to go to MyFiles and I go to the folder where my picture is supposed to be, it's not there! There's no way I can refresh it either. I also went through the preferences of "show hidden items", still no luck in it. I need to find it in the folders to be able to use apps like photogrid to be able to locate the file. :( Has anyone had this problem? Anyone know any fix? Thanks!

I have a Samsung Captivate Glide i927.

Are you using the stock app? For example, when I use Vignette, it throws them in the vignette folder. Also, if you are using an SD card and have internal storage as well, you might have more than one DCIM folder.

A couple of things would make troubleshooting easier ... which phone do you have and what version of Android? and how are you mounting the phone on the laptop? As USB storage or are you using a syncing suite?

Yes, I am completely aware of how when you're using apps, it goes to other folders. For example, when I use Molome, it goes to its own Molome folder. When I use Instagram, it goes to its own folder. However, my issue right now is using the camera that came with the phone itself, which does go directly into the DCIM folder. When I plug in it in, I am able to locate the picture in the DCIM folder. When I go back to my phone, I am still not able to locate it, BUT I am able to see it when I click on MY GALLERY. I just can not see it when I go to MY FILE and all that stuff. Because of this, I am not able to use collage apps, such a Photogrid because it is unable to locate it. The only reason why I'm asking on this forum is because I was wondering if anyone had gone through the same issue and knows the solution. As I have stated before, I checked everything "basic" that pretty much many people know what to do.

I am using the Gingerbread, and I am connecting my phone through the USB, which is the USB storage. I have also tried just taking the SD Card out and both ways, they show up COMPLETELY fine on my laptop. I just can not find it on my phone at all! As I stated in my original post, I have a Samsung Captivate Glide, which is the i927 (and a total pos).
