Why is my Droid screwing up?

Ok so my phone recently, when I went to check the time, had no lock pattern thing come up even though I have a pattern. Also, in my settings, call settings is grayed out and my phone's performance is terrible. is anyone else having problems with their droid? (I don't have the update yet). And I don't have any viruses I don't think because I mostly download popular things in the market (although I did download swype and Kwaak3 (or whatever it's called" but I uninstalled both. What do I do?!?!

I am starting to believe that my phone is acting up as well due to the upgrade that is coming soon. Everytime around noon or midnight for the past 3 days, all of my phone widgets disappear. Coincidence? I don't think so. My phone has always been flawless since the day I received it. I have had to reboot like 4 times at those time intervals to get it to stop.

Sounds more like your handset is haunted. D:

Can't really help since, obviously, I don't own a Droid. D'you suppose you could list your installed apps for us?

Allof the ones included when you first buy it plus Google Voice, ProjectINF, Abduction, Dolphin Browser, Sketch Online Beta, Evernote, Phonealyzr, Advanced Task Killed, Alazon, CalWidget, Calorie Counter, Dailyhoroscope, DC Metro Map, Digital Clock Widget, Dog Whisler, Droidlight, Fandango, Finance, Home++, Goggles, Layar, LED Scroller 3, Lookout Mobile Security, Marketmillionaire, Meebo, My Verizon, OI File Manager, Pandora, Photoshop, QR Code, Quick Calendar, Ringdroid, Runstar, Shazam, Swift, The weather channel, urbanspoon, and wapedia

Edit: oh, I also forgot the truth or dare app, gesture search, and metal detector.

Today, not sure of the time, could have been around 12 noon, all of my icons were completely gone. The phone was on & I could see the wallpaper but nothing, no 3g, nothing, and then it restarted all by itself. Weird, because it actually never even shut off. I was looking at my wallpaper & in an instant, I was looking at the droid red eye. Strange!

I sort of thought it had something to do with the update too. But my girlfriend has an envy & she said hers was acting really strange too.

Yeah... the missing app thing I have heard of before and actually experienced myself many times. I can only assume it is your devise overloading it's self with apps running in the background. I notice it happens only when I am doing a ton of thing at once. So... Just remember to kill apps as much as possible. as far as the self restart... It's obvious that your phone is possessed. Hire a Priest. :D

One of your problems may be the "Task Killer" - really don't need one.
Your device has a program to kill apps when not needed.

I used "Advanced Task Manager" on my droid - one of the problems
was to eliminate the "resume" feature when watching a movie.

Uninstalled the task manager, the problem was solved.

I am not saying that may be your problem - but I would just uninstall
the task manager temporarily and see what clears up.

Good Luck

Guys, I am 99% certain none of these problems are being caused by the impending update. Nothing will happen to your phone at all (with regards to the update) until it happens. There is no "prep" needed for the phone for the update as far as I know...

Agreed. If nothing is sent to your phone about an update that your phone would not know about, it cannot affect the way your phone is performing now.

If anything, I'd load Advanced Task Killer to at least SEE what processes are running. I used it at first, then got rid of it, then got back into using it. Mostly to stop crap from running after restarting the phone. (why the F does maps need to start when I start the phone???)

I highly recommend ditching the task killer. Could also try dropping Home++ since it's not the most stable (well, it was stable enough on my N1, but some Droid owners reported having trouble with it).
