Does *#*#CHECKIN#*#* Work For Leaked 2.1?

I'm curious, plus I am wondering if whether or not the leak works for the check in service would be an indication of whether or not the system will allow the leak to be updated via the OTA.

I know that the check in service is not likely to at all to be the source or involved with the OTA, but there might be a possibility that it is tied in in some way or other with "seeing" the device for eligibility for the OTA.

Long shot, I know.. but could those of you with the leak give the check in service a try and post if it comes up "successful" as it does with 1.5?

Be sure to NOT press "call" after dialing in *#*#checkin#*#*.. just wait about 5 seconds for "checkin successful" to show in the notification bar.

lol.. no, I'm running 1.5 and I confess to using checkin once daily.. "just in case."

ah well I updated to the 2.1 on sunday bc I just couldn't wait any longer and the checkin thing just worked on my phone.

Good for you. My bud, assistant manager of the local Verizon store, was going to do his update yesterday. Other than Frisco, who we need as our control group, there probably is no reason to wait.

No problems here. Did not know about this. I will have to make it a daily ritual until OTA is released.
