wsup androidforums! new member with N1(att) coming from iPhone 3g

whats up im a new member in this forum and i hope to learn alot. i came from an iPhone 3G jailbroken with all the goods you can possible get from cydia/app store. i was a pretty active member on the sinfuliphone forums and i prettty much know everything about the iPhone. Now... reading the posts on the N1 or anything droid.. i am lost lol. So far my N1 is the shit and i have only a couple problems like the ATT signals.. and the bright screen. anyways.. i hope i learn new things on here and hopefully contribute to this forum also!.. and.. whats the point on rooting the N1? if i do root it, will i be able to get updates? thanks

Phones that are rooted -- Do Not get OTA updates, but rely on updated ROMs from private developers ...
