Well, the N4 has only a few months on the market and there's already rumors everywhere about the next Nexus device. A lot of people consider Motorola to be the next Nexus manufacturer.

I open this thread to see any news about this kind of rumors, let me start with the first one:

LG Nexus 5 and Nexus 7.7 rumors commence: higher-resolution screens, Google I/O announcement

According to this article, Koreans say that the next Nexus (most likely the Nexus 5) will be made again by LG (!?!?). It will have a 5.0" display with full HD quality, a Tegra 4 processor and will keep the "budget phone" category starting al $299 the 8 gb version.

I'd have thought they'd struggle to find anything really new for a new model if it was more than once a year .. Having said that, HTC and Sammy seem to pump out new phones every couple of months.

Not sure that a slightly higher screen definition would be enough of an improvement, though I guess if they also add LTE that would please a few punters, particularly in the US.

I'd be surprised simply because it has to cost quite a bit to develop a phone and particularly with the reported sales volumes so far, you'd think Google would need a bit more time to make that money back.

As an N4 owner, I'm not sure I'd be that bothered if they did make another, better one already.

Every Nexus phone has had a lifetime of 1 year so far. So I'm not listening to any rumors till the summer!

By that logic, the new 7incher Nexus should come by July.

Why the h3ll is google always changing manufacturers?

Because its been that way from the start. Google wants to make sure every manufacturer gets their chance to make a device with Google itself. Its like giving everyone a chance. Besides, working together gives both the manufacturer and Google new ideas to work with.

PS, the thread is way to immature. Close it and make another in 6 months please.

Not really, if we consider Google's event and MWC coming up soon, plus the Nexus 7 one year anniversary comes at June, so the replacement for that particular product (Nexus 7 II? Nexus 7.7?) Should have an announcement by March/April at the earliest.

I also call BS on this. If they released in may, people who had just got their N4 would be so pissed (myself included). There would also be very little available in terms on a new chipset. They could release the x phone, with normal Motorola prices but premiering klp, and maybe a nexus 7.7. Definitely no nexus 5!

I really hope the next nexus tablet is 7.7-8.0 inch display. I saw the Note 8.0 and I loved the size. The Nexus 7 was announced on July of 2012, so I expect hard rumors to start leaking next month.

For the smartphone, I think the Nexus 4 is still a good device to fight against titans like Galaxy S4, HTC One or Xperia Z.

I also have a question. Who decides who builds a Nexus? Does Google just says "this year I want it to be Huawei" for example? Or does every OEM shows a proposal every year and Google decides who is the winner? I am expecting a Nexus from HTC or Motorola.
