Another product arrived today from MobileFun and its another Nexus one advertised as a Desire one.
The rubber case comes with a cardboard cut out of a Nexus One in it and on the back it even has a red rubber "nexus one" stamped on it.

I tried it anyway as I want my phone protected and I can just about shoe-horn the desire into it but as the Desire is a bit bigger all around than the Nexus One (compared width on HTC website) it doesn't sit properly.

So will be sending this back too.
Getting fed up with companies doing this.

Has anyone found a thin rubber protective case for the Desire that was designed for it and fits it yet?

That's so f**king stupid man, how can companies get away with doing that when they clearly know it doesn't fit!

I'm looking for a leather slip case (always hated rubber ones) but I can't seem to find any. For now, I went on to amazon and got some rip-off iPod socks. 6 of em for a fiver, can't go wrong! They're not an ideal long term solution, but for quick protection against scratches and light knocks they'll suffice until official accessories become more widely available. That's what I would suggest for now.

Hi. Really sorry to hear about the issue you've had.

We do try to be up front, as all our images show the Nexus One sticker on the case. Also all images in the text are real, it is a bit tight but we did get it to fit - and all cut outs did match the phone.

If you were upfront, you wouldn't put up a description saying "Flexishield Skin for the HTC Desire" No where is the Nexus mentioned on that page. Even in the "This product is compatible with" section JUST the Desire is mentioned.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but when I buy something I don't wanna have to struggle to get it in because it's not the right product! Just because you managed to bodge it together doesn't mean everyone else wants to! Be honest with your customers, tell em it's for a Nexus but with a bit of a squeeze you can get a Desire in, if you want to!

I certainly won't be buying anything from your website, mainly because you can't even figure out which accessories fit which handsets! Plus lying to your customers isn't cool...

You didn't receive a faulty one. There's a thread somewhere else on the forum where people have had this problem.
The company lies in it's product title.

Oh wow you actually post on here how come it's taken so long to come out and defend your terrible company? If you look in the HTC desire case thread you can see that I and others have been ripped off by your company and blatantly lied to. I sent a very strong email of complaint to mobile fun this week and from the reply I got I don't think anyone actually even read it!! You should be really ashamed of yourselves, I used to trust your company but can honestly say I will never buy anything from you again and will recommend others not to either. Seems you are still not listening either the Nexus One case doesn't fit the Desire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No... the case is NOT compatible with the desire, you've just tried to squeeze it in and hoped for the best. Most customers would not consider that truly 'compatible'.

I emailed them first thing this morning asking about why a Nexus one skin is being mis-sold as a Desire Skin and why it is listed as Black when it is not.

Not a good start as i am potentially a new customer for them and was looking to purchase several items and possibly the Desire phone ( sim free ) . Now i'm a bit concerned. I do appeciate the fact they came on this forum and have since ammended their website, so respect for them taking note but is there any other items i need worry about . Seems i'll wait for others to stock the Desire again ...

Yup that was also me buying that and making a thread.. Lol.

I have done the returns proccess for both items and will post them back tomorrow.
It's very annoying, having to go through this.

I will also be sending mine back to MobileFun. Although the phone does fit in with a squeeze (just), it hinders the use of the power button which I'm finding annoying.
I've gone back to using my Krussel Leather pouch which does the job for now.

Recived mine from mobile fun yesterday as well was not happy! i just assumed that the pic on there website of the nexus one was on there because they had no pics of the desire ones yet!
it does not fit well at all and to top it off i paid

Hi Guys,

Just to say I only picked this up late in the afternoon. ( While on hold to BT over the volcano)
I raised the issue with my contact at Mobilefun and can confirm that its a genuine offer. It looks like it was a misinformed supplier was the root cause behind the issue, and bearing in mind the similarity of the two phones- I can see why that mistake happened.
To confirm- If you have bought the desire flexi-shield - and been sent the nexus one shield, then get in touch with them and they will arrange to have the correct one shipped out to you- without needing to return the other one. ( For bonus points- tell them androidbloke sent you!)

For any of you who have a spare shield that you haven't used yet - I have a very naked nexus one in need of flexi shielding!

Regards future accessories, they said the issue has been sorted and they have made sure that this sort of thing won't slip through the net again.

If you guys have similar android related issues, with any supplier- please let me know- via my contact us form as I know there are others out there.

Ps would love to hear your feedback on Desire and what you migrated to it from ( please contact me on the website)

I also purchased a flexi sheild case for my desire from Mobile fun, i ordered the Black one, got the clear one, and it does fit,,,just, not perfect but better than nothing, until a proper desire case comes out, it will protect my valuable purchase.
