My phone will not grid lock all of a sudden. It had frozen up the other night so i took the battery out and turned it back on and the lock wasnt there. Ive gone in to my settings and set up a new pattern but it will still not appear when i hit the power button. The same time this happened my sift 'home" key stopped working as did the "search" key. its annoying cause I have to hit the back buttton a million times to get home. i found someone else on this website with the same exact problem but no one gave her any solutions. I was thinking about doing a factory reset but I go through straight talk and Im nervous I will lose my minutes for the month and my phone number. Does anyone know what I should do to get the buttons working again??? HELPPP!!!!

You won't lose your minutes or number by doing a factory reset. If that was the case most of us of this forum would have killed our phones by now doing what we've done to them. :)

Your minutes, phone number and contacts (if you've synced them with Google) will all still be there after the reset - after you re-sync.

It'll remove all the apps and other data if you haven't backed up, but to get the phone back to normal a factory reset 'should' work. If it doesn't, then it's probably a hardware issue. Your phone is a computer and sometimes computers mess up. A reset *usually* fixes most things.

I have the same thing happened to me the other day. I was trying trying to fix it no avail. just wondering if you did a factory reset? And did it work? and now my phone won't ring when I get an incoming calls or text message no matter how many times I turn the volume up. it's really getting frustrating, I to have straight talk, and was worried about losing info. if it helps you please let me know. I'd really appreciate it.
