You meet your friends and coworkers around the water cooler and begin to discuss rumors about upcoming Android devices. Discussions range from concept devices to the wait being experienced for new devices. That, fellow members, is the purpose of this thread. Today rumor threads and posts exist all over the place. For example a post for the HTC One replacement may be found under any HTC thread, under a specific carrier thread or anywhere else. Lets try and keep all the rumors in one place, here!

Please follow the Android Forum rules for posts here. Since we are all different, please provide a link for the source of all rumors. One member may consider a feature trivial while another considers that feature the one that makes this device a must have. Also please remember that copyright laws exist so do not copy information verbatim.

That's it. Let the rumors flow.

I finally found a rumor confirming what I thought about the new Galaxy F smartphone. It looks like the GS5 will be the plastic model while the GF will be the metal one.

"The report adds that the Galaxy F will help kick off a new line of "super-premium" smartphones, with the Galaxy F serving as a higher-end version of the Galaxy S5."

Interesting - that almost makes it sound like the S series will no longer be a flagship model. Or would "super-premium" translate to a rare phone few people buy?

wait...is this just civilized tech phone talk?or are we allowed to get catty??:D:D:D

kidding.....
I guess....
sort of
:rolleyes::):)

carry on with your bad selves:smokingsomb::D

Huh can be Huh! :D

This is the lounge after all. :) The main purpose of the thread is to try and keep rumors in one place instead of spreading them out all over the place.

I prefer epic, colossal, gargantuan, historic and legendary-type device-specific rumor/leak threads? :p

Those threads are fine too. I am not a staff person so i don't get a say anyhow. The truth is I will probably upgrade this spring or summer, but have no idea whether to stay with Samsung or switch. Without a single spot to find and discuss rumors how am I supposed to know which brand to get?

Let's just keep both then! :D

Yes that is an interesting point. It may well be the latter depending on the extra cash outlay. For an extra $50 it might be worth it - for$ 200 extra it would not be woth it for me!

I'm wondering will the S5 be worth my upgrade

I think you just hit the nail on the head! I feel the price of the Galaxy F will be the determining factor. I don't use the GS III for much more than calls when I am not home. T-Mobile claims to have good non LTE coverage in my area and are increasing their footprint all the time. (Who would have thought they want to be a Sasquatch? :D:D) All I know is that I get a good signal from VZW and get a very very poor to no signal from AT&T and Sprint. I use wifi to my home network to use a BLAST internet connection to Comcast. I have downloaded a 250 meg file on my desktop in ~3 seconds. Of course some servers have what appears to be poor connections to the backbone. Downloading from Epson, for example, is usually at about 250kb.

Let me go get some dinner. The blasted chemicals the doctor used to dilate my eyes hasn't worn off yet and the glare from the monitor is giving me a headache. :( Yes the brightness is is cranked way down.

According to GSMArena the Sony Xperia Z1S will come with bootloader unlocking disabled. (posted 18 Jan 2014) This apparently was requested by T-Mobile. :(

Please don't shoot the messenger!

Just when T-Mobile is gaining some momentum, they decide to go all corporate. Maybe that will change after release. I think some HTC phones have to wait awhile after release to get on the unlock list. Maybe this will be similar.

September 2013 had a possible concept of a future Samsung phone. I think it looks great, but I would not trust the curved display. How long would the curved screen last???

That site is requesting that I do one of those stupid CloudFlare CAPTCHAs.

Why do I have to complete a CAPTCHA?

Completing the CAPTCHA proves you are a human and gives you temporary access to the web property.

What can I do to prevent this in the future?

If you are on a personal connection, like at home, you can run an anti-virus scan on your device to make sure it is not infected with malware.
If you are at an office or shared network, you can ask the network administrator to run a scan across the network looking for misconfigured or infected devices.

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Do these peeps want people to view their content "web property" or not?

I don't get any sign-on screen with a Captcha. Could it have something to do with your location? Flagfox has an USA flag indicating the server is here in the States. I don't know what is going on.

Here is a collection of rumors from GottaBeMOBILE about the HTC M8.

KitKat 4.4
Screen Increased to 5 inches
Announced in Febuary
Available all major US Carriers in March

Could have removable battery and expandable storage,

May opt for the Snapdragon 805 processor instead of the Snapdragon 800.

If they really include expandable storage at least, I think they could take some business away from Samsung. I doubt the battery would be removable.
