Help Downloading MMS???

Folks, forgive me for asking. When I get a picture message and get notified I have to go in and download it? I believe on my Eris it just sent the picture to me without me having to hit a download button. Not a huge deal but is everyone experiencing this. It isn't random it happens from ATT customers as well as VZW customers. Thanks in advance.

in whichever messaging app you use, go to your settings and make sure that the "auto-retrieve" option is checked.

Using the stock message and that field is checked. Thanks for the reply, any other idea?

under your main settings, wireless & networks and then mobile networks... sometimes vzw phones act like they're roaming if they have semi-low signal strength, I guess make sure your "data roaming" option is checked, as well as your always-on mobile data and then set your "system select" to automatic?

I can not see my pic texts either........just that they are there

had the same problem. had to restore the phone to factory settings and it fixed it. been working perfectly for 4 days now.

i also had issues with "generic network error" when trying to send mms. that was fixed with the restore, too.

I can see them, I just have to go the extra step of hitting download. On the home screen I get and envelope with exclamation point stating message not downloaded. Once I go into the message it gives me the option to download or decline. Hitting download does download the pix message just not sure why I have to do an extra step....not a deal breaker, just wondering if anyone else has this issue. I know I didn't have to do this on my Eris.

Anyone? I don't know how to correct this issue, maybe I should just live with it.
