Constantly logged out of Facebook

Had my Hero for a few weeks now and overall loving it. Its Orange branded and updated to the latest ROM.

Lately I've started to face this problem where Facebook (from Social Networks), keeps getting logged out every other second or so. Most of the times it just won't log-in with a 'Service not available, try again' sort of message. Also if I try to log in from the Contact, it behaves the same way.

On the other hand, the Facebook widget and app are connected and working fine. This is really upsetting since I have many contacts on Facebook and having their pictures showing in the Contacts was a pretty handy feature for me.

I've already reset it once, but to no avail. My Twitter and Flickr accounts remained signed in, whereas Facebook just doesn't. I've also tried signing in on an alternative Facebook account to isolate the issue, but the result was the same.

Would love to hear from folks facing the same thing and what they did to resolve it. I've also put in a message with HTC.

Its just a thought, but is it possible that the widget / app you are using is trumping HTCs intergation? Maybe to keep its connection its logging out the HTC part? Im guessing thats where I would start. Stop the widget and see if the problem continues.

That was a good suggestion Edaze55, but it was working fine with it before, Nevertheless I still tried what you said but unfortunately I'm getting the same behaviour even after uninstalling my Facebook app. Almost 90% of the time I get a response saying that 'The service is currently unavailable. Do you want to try again?'. The few times it does sign-in, it will log itself out within a minute.

Its the 5th day running and I'm unable to log in to FB at all (sometimes it does log in for less than a minute, but most of the times not even that!). Looking fwd to the gurus giving some more advice.

All good now. Not sure what did it, but I went into Applications -> Social Networks and cleaned out the Cache. Did a restart, it happened a few times more but with less frequency. Then I changed my network to be 3G-on all the time (earlier I'd forced it to 2G) and it started working now. Not sure if going to 3G should have made an impact but hey, everything's working now.
