Well after installing the v3 leak i decided to use sense ui again because of how nice it looks. Well I was very wrong with that decision. How do you guys deal with the lag? I deleted everything off my sense ui and installed Helix. I love the 4 static buttons at the bottom, 3 screens is plenty and the speed change is AMAZING! Helix launcher 2 does not work on the Eris so do not attempt or you will be pulling the battery.

I just wanted to let you guys know how to get some more performance out of this thing. Also helix can go landscape while Home.

Hm, I guess I don't deal with lag. I use Sense and rarely notice any lag. Sure, when I'm downloading 3-6 apps at once there's some lag, but that's to be expected. Is there something you may be doing different that would cause the lag?

By the way, I have nine widgets running on my screens (two calendars, weather, people, music player, Pandora, Sports Tap, Seesmic, and 3Banana). So, I would think that would make me a pretty regular user. Or are some people running way more widgets than that? Even with those 7, I very rarely notice any lag when going through my 7 screens.

Sense runs well for me also, and nothing I have found is faster at opening up the app drawer or adding things to the home screen as sense. I have occasional dialer lag, and some lag when opening the stock message app and the market. Other than that, the phone zips thru the day with little to no lag at all. I did have horrible keyboard lag when posting on forums, but swype has cure me of that :D

I've never had a problem with Sense running slow. It performs really well for me.

Totally agree.

I also have the market lag, and use swype to get rid of the keyboard lag. The dialer lag is annoying for me, but on the whole I really don't have any issue with Sense.

Could it possibly be something else you are running OP?

I'm with this dude. I've had Sense filled up to the brim with icons and widgets, and the speed was never an issue. From my experience with my Eris Sense actually is the smoothest of all the home apps I've run (helix, zeam, home, home++, panda, sweeter home).

I just can't stand the look of it.

Rookie.... j/k

It's crazy, I've never had any lag, but for some reason I am (a lot) today. I don't know anything other than Sense though. I felt ashamed trying to show this doc some pics on my phone and they were taking forever to come up. He was like "Yeah, you need an Iphone like mine." I'll keep up with this post to see what everybody's thoughts are though, as far as the lag.

I have replaced my Sense home widgets by purchasing Beautiful widgets. Gives a great clock/weather widget.

Also the Helix home lets you have 4 static buttons along the bottom, you can edit how many home screens you want and it has a landscape feature. the menu also does'nt leg when scrolling up and down. I'm not sure why my sense ui was so slow but Helix has sped everything up by a land slide.
