I can't seem to pair the incredible to my car's bluetooth. I've had no problems with my previous two phones and I was able to connect my bluetooth headset to the incredible.

Has anyone with a TL (or other Acura) successfully paired the incredible with their car? Any ideas on how I can get this thing to work besides getting a new car/phone?

Update: Thank you everyone for the advice and support. I got it to work. Apparently the phone thought it was paired to the car. So once I unpaired it, everything worked. I have more details about it in a post further down this thread. Thanks again!

I have a Honda Civic (same company so no jokes) and it paired with no issues. What happens when you try and pair?

I don't have an Accura, but do have a 2010 Saturn Aura. I HAD a Verizon Voyager phone paired with the car before I bought the Incredible (no problems whatsoever). I deleted the Voyager phone from the car's Bluetooth Device list, & tried to pair the Incredible. The phone "see's" the car, & displays "General Motors"..then the car "say's" "Select General Motors on your device, and then input PIN number (whatever)"..I do..the phone goes to saying "Pairing"..but nothing else happens..the car eventually say's "No Device Found"..I've tried it over & over again...Any ideas??
Thanks!

The car doesn't find the phone but the phone sees the car. When I try to pair through my phone, the car Bluetooth just shuts off . I don't get far enough to name the phone on the car. What steps did you do?

Yeah, you cant do it through the phone. It has to be initiated from the car.

I pressed the voice control button, said "phone options"
"pair"
Went into blue tooth settings and scanned for devices. The car tells me it has found a phone. I then select hands free link on the phones BT settings. Enter the code 0000 and then name the phone.

had no problems with my acura rl. hit the handsfree button, said "pair", asked me for a a passcode "1, 2, 3, 4", as it went searching on my incredible i hit 'menu', 'settings', 'wireless & networks', 'bluetooth settings', hit 'scan for devices' and the "handsfreelink" showed up. i pushed it, asked for the passcode on the handset and after entering that i was all set.

Thanks guys for the advice. I figured out the problem and now the phone is linked perfectly.

To those that are still having trouble (regardless of the car), I recommend you make sure your phone doesn't think it is paired with the car before you try again to pair it. Somewhere during my pairing attempts, my phone thought it paired with the car, but it wasn't, so every time I tried to pair, the car bluetooth would reject it.

To unpair the phone, make sure your car is looking for the phone and then press "scan for devices" on your phone. when the car device comes up on your phone, push and hold it down. there will be a pop-up menu with multiple options. if one of them says "unpair," click it and try the pair process again from the beginning.

It worked like a charm for me - hopefully the rest of you will have the same success.

I have an Acura 2006 TL and was having similar issues. When the car says to put the phone in discovery mode, you actually have to hit the "scan for devices" on the incredible. Then press the handsfree thing that pops up, and it'll ask for the phone. I had to go through this several times. I'll try deleting my phone and try again tomorrow for a more thorough if you'd like, let me know if you get it.

I was able to successfully pair my new HTC Droid Incredible (a Verizon Wireless smart phone) with my 2004 TL. No problems during pairing.

I get signal strength & battery level on the multi-info display.

I was able to initiate a call from the HFL after pairing. One small glitch so far is that any time I start a call (or end a call), I get a couple moderately loud "pop" noises through the audio system. I had this same problem with my last phone (LG Voyager).

I'm just happy that I was able to pair the phone.

You can delete the old phone (or not)...your choice. I deleted all my old phones before pairing my Incredible. The HFL menu commands may be a little different on a 2008 TL - mine is an old-timer 2004.

For my TL, the HFL voice commands are:
- Phone Setup : List <<< This makes the HFL give the recorded names of all paired phones. You need this list because you have to delete each phone by name from this list
- Phone Setup : Delete <<< You will be prompted for the phone name followed by a couple of the obligatory "are you sure" prompts.

Hope that helps.

I finally paired my Incredible to my Acura MDX 2006 (which works most of the time). Now I am trying to pair a my wife's Incredible but it won't find the phone. The phone will find the car but if I put in the code it disconnects. It was so much easier with older phones. Any suggestions??

Update: I unpaired the phone again and then got it work by scanning for devices on the phone and putting the code

Does anyone else have issues with "ghost pairings" When I am in my house, near the garage, my phone will pair with my car (2007 Acura RDX) even though I saw it had disconnected when I turned off the car. I have to quickly shut off bluetooth when I receive a call so I can hear and speak with the caller.

On a separate note, sometimes my Dinc will not be recognized by my car occasionally and I will have to turn bluetooth off and on to get it to work.

I never had either of these problems with my Blackberry. Anyone else having similar experiences?

Yeah it's happened to me a few times. The bedroom is above the garage and for some reason its making a connection with the car's bluetooth even though the car's been off for a couple minutes. I've previously owned a WinMo and a Blackberry and left the bluetooth on and never had similar issues.

I haven't had the problem with the car not being able to recognize the phone though.
