Root Notification color

This is an issue I can't seem to find addressed anywhere. When you download any dark theme (Adamz SG, SG BB, SS3.x) the notification text colors on the drop down are white. However when I am downloading an app from the market, the download status bar, text % color etc. are black, and you are unable to see them. I would have to check, but I'm thinking if you are actively playing music the song title, info etc. are black under the drop down as well. Does anyone have a metamorph or update.zip to change all the text color to white? It eats at me! Thanks guys!

I've been searching for a while for a way to change the dropdown text color, but none of the devs are coming up with anything for people who use quite a few of the ROMs available.

The creator of Pulldown Editor has the option to change the text color "on his to-do list"... but nothing as of yet. This is his exact response to the question:

Text Color is technically still on my list. I'm trying to come up with a good way to pick the color. Android doesn't provide a standard "Color Picker" dialog, and honestly, I've been kind of lazy to write one myself... I'll get around to it at some point.

The thread for the pulldown editor release, should you choose to watch it like a hawk waiting for the ability to change color (like I am doing), here is the link.

[Release] Pulldown Editor 3.0 for Motorola Droid

There are several apps designed to change the color for the statusbar, but I've tried them all. On CM 5.0.x.x, they don't work. I ended up with a boot loop for most of them and had to restore.

It's kind of a pain in the ass. You need to go into framework-res, layout, and pull a couple of .xml files (status_bar, status_bar_expanded, status_bar_lastest_event something) and use HxD (hex editor) to find 00 00 1C.

Then, the next six hex digits define the color. So, if it is default, they will be 00 00 00 (black), which you can modify to FF FF FF (white).

Then, put em back in to layout, and repush framework, reboot.

That made my head hurt. I hate hex editors... never been able to figure them out.

Edit: alrighty then... just downloaded HxD, checked out those three files for mine. "FF FF FF" on all of them, but the text is dark grey in the pulldown bar. It is, however, white on the lockscreen. The notifications are also white.

I assume, then, that the part I am looking for (where it normally says "Verizon Wireless" in the pulldown bar) is NOT 00 00 c1?

That's in services.jar, and requires some more headache.

Basically, you need to download smali, and use it to extract the files out of services.jar/classes.dex

Then, edit the files according to this post:

xda-developers - View Single Post - Need help with services.jar

Then, repackage them.

Then, repush services, reboot.
