Contacts coming up as "unknown" in phone app

So I just recently updated to the 2.1 and I've been having lots of trouble with contacts.

Every single one of my contacts in my call history is listed as unknown even though I have them all in "people".

Furthermore, when I go to Messages>Compose message and type in a person's name in where it says "To" they do not come up in the search results despite being part of of my "people" contacts.

I've been searching and searching for a way to fix this and its driving me crazy!

Is there anyway I can fix this without having to reset my enitre phone?

I'm still awaiting to hear word also, I put all my contact numbers in with our local area code. Before 2.1 I didn't need the area code and now it seems I do, because all my calls were coming up unknown.

Mine did this for a while. I did a *228 and reboot. Not sure if that is the fix, but it's been working fine since.

I gave it a try and it didn't work for me. thank you though
