Help Screen freeze while charging

So I have a weird issue that my Incredible home screen is unresponsive when I plug it into a wall charger. Meaning that when it is plugged in I can tap the power button to turn the screen on but I can't slide or hit the home button to unlock. I have to unplug the phone to bring it out of lock mode.

It seems to only do this when I use a cheap micro USB charger I bought off of Ebay ($2.50 shipped). When I went to the Verizon store they tried to replicate the problem with their Blackberry brand micro USB charger and the problem didn't come up.

Has anybody else had this problem?

I've got the same issue, works fine with my car charger and the charger that came with the phone buy is unresponsive when plugged into a cheap ebay charger. once it's unplugged, it works fine again. did you ever find a solution?

I had the same issue with a bad charger. Still within my 30 days. Should I get a new Incredible? It seems to be working fine but I'm freaking out!

The problem is with your third party charger. There were a few threads about this a while back and I think the overall consensus was just stick with the stock charger or if you do use the third party charger, then don't use the phone.

Thanks. I definitely will use the HTC charger from now on.

I'm just worried that I screwed up my phone. Do you know if I could have caused permanent damage to my Incredible?

I purchased 3 different AC chargers on Ebay and everyone of them did the exact same thing. The OEM HTC Charger works perfectly as does my OEM Car Charger. I was getting kind of pissed since the OEM AC Charger is far more expensive on-line than I would like to spend so I decided to try my old LG ENV Touch Charger which worked like a champ. I send an email to HTC and the only reply I received is that the voltage requirements must be exact to avoid lock-ups so I hooked the Ebay chargers up to a VOM and they tested the same??? There must be a good explanation but I haven't found it yet.
