Well guys it seems as though this is a season of change for me. First LOST goes off there air :'( ....give me a moment...Ok, and now I will be saying goodbye to everyone here who has been so very helpful to me in teaching me everything I've learned about the Eris and Android in general. Last night at work, I dropped my phone and cracked, or shall I say shattered, the screen. Display is completely trashed. I do have insurance, but I'm so close to upgrading in July that I'll be spending that 80 bucks towards a new phone. Thanks to Caddyman, OTD, Trident, smacky, acidbath, jcase, Spencer Moore, Konikub, framework, andrizoid, and anybody else I forgot to mention that has helped me along the way.. Keep working to push the platform forward guys!

Broken phone+Insurance+upgrade = Money!

Get your replacement through your insurance... $80 you said... right?

Use it until July then put in on ebay... You'll get at least $200 if it's intact...

Use that money toward your upgrade.
You can even sell it right when you get it from the insurance and still use whatever replacement you planed on using until July... You'll probably get more if you can advertise it as "never used refurb phone"

This is what I would do anyway...

You wouldn't be doing anything shady....you have insurance so you're entitled to get it replaced....

everything that happened on the island actually happened. This was confirmed by Christian when he said, "everything that happened on the island actually happened."

everything that happened in the "flash sideways" was not real, sort of like them im purgatory.

We see how Jack died (from the stab wound) but we dont see how most of the others died.

In the flash sideways there is no concept of time. Everyone meets there at the same time even though they are all dead and died at different times. how they died is unimportant, the important thing is that they all needed to meet and help each other move forward to the next step (heaven?)

Haha I thought of that exact thing when i made the post. "I hope no one reports me for making a goodbye post." As far as a replacement goes, I'm anxious to see what moto will bring to the table in the next couple of months. The Inc. would be cool too. Who said Iphone? really? If att called me and said we'll let you have the new iphone first, before anyone, and we'll pay for your service I MIGHT consider it. Otherwise HELL NO! lol

As far as LOST goes...I have never been more inspired by a television show in all my life. If you don't come out of watching that finale with a desire to be a better human being then something is wrong with you. It was so moving, so elequent, beautifully and masterfully written. The redemption of Jack, who this season was so humble and willing to follow, and then at the end when it was his time, to so bravely accept his fate. I have been a Jack fan throughout the entire series, and for it all to come to an end the way it did was just .... MAGICAL.

I will definitely be sticking with the android platform. Its looking like the shadow/xtreme will likely be my next choice. Those benchmark tests are pretty impressive when you consider that the test was supposedly done on a unit running 2.1 and not 2.2 with jit. I learned my lesson with the Eris. It was my first smartphone and I honestly was too new to realize the difference in power between it and the Droid. But I loved her all the same. Now I will stick with getting the most powerful phone available when I'm eligible.

Just an opinion from a former Eris owner (wife has it now) to a Motorola Droid owner. I wanted a rooted phone but since I leaked I couldn't root my Eris. So I looked around to find some deals on phones and my choices were either the Eris on 1.5 or the Droid as far as affordability for me. So I went to the Droid forums to find out more info since I had no clue as to how good/bad the dev community was over there. It ends up that they are phenomenal but the real reason why I went to the droid is because they have a download available for the OEM flash software to reflash your phone back to stock no matter what happens. With this software the only way to brick your phone is while flashing this software and losing power, so you really don't need to worry about bricking your phone. The only downside is the looks of the phone compared to the eris (Which I think is the best looking android phone out right now). But I'm getting 10MFlops with the linpack and the phone runs so smooth it's insane. And I don't even have it overclocked as high as it can go because of how smooth it runs.
