Here's my assessment. Preface, every Mon-Fri I use the phone almost exactly the same - 7am unplug the phone and use it till 14% battery left or I go to bed (which ever comes first). I make several calls during the day, use WiFi where all day, GPS stays on, Bluetooth stays off (exceptions noted below).

I gave each battery a full 5 days of use, and averaged them out over the 5 days. I also noted the maximum % of battery life was left for extreme circumstances consideration.

Seidio 1750 would range anywhere from 40% by bedtime (11pm ish) to needing a charge by bedtime.

HTC 1500 would range from 40% to 20% by bedtime (11pm ish). That is correct, I have not needed to charge my 1500 on my weekdays.

Here's the kicker. With the Seidio, I had only 3 radios running all day, and never used Bluetooth. With the HTC, I had 3 radios running all day and turned on Bluetooth for my drive home (used speakerphone instead when I had the Seidio in there.) We all know Bluetooth is a battery hog, and the 1500 has lasted me longer life than the Seidio has.

THIS IS BY NO MEANS A SCIENTIFIC TEST.

My point is that the Seidio cost me $50 shipped. The HTC cost me $15 shipped. Even if my extra performance from the HTC were a fluke, to have equal (or near equal) performance from a battery that costs less than 1/3 of the Seidio makes it the winner.

In my situation, the HTC 1500 mAH is leaps and bounds better than the Seidio.

What also finalizes my opinion on the HTC > Seidio is the fact that I emailed and PM'd Seidio directly asking about batteryboss's claims, as well as what I've observed. I've never received any reply in response either way (be it email or PM on this site.)

I'm not saying Seidio is a junk company, because they've outlasted all other batteries I've had for my BlackBerry smart phones. In fact, I've sworn by Seidio, but ever since an OEM battery has been available to me for CHEAP I've put Seidio as a second choice in extended batteries.

I hope this clarifies a lot of debate. Don't flame, take what I've gotten as anecdotal. What you have with your Seidio may be different than mine. But, my issues with the battery have gone by the wayside with the HTC 1500 (though I still feel HTC should have equipped the phone with this instead of the 1300, but that's another story).

I LOVE THIS PHONE!

Gave the 1500mAH to my girlfriend, and she also can go a full day without needing a charge. Again, for $15 you can't go wrong.

I wish I could make it more controlled. However, I do not have any expensive testing equipment. Anecdotes are all we'll ever get. I'm just trying to shed as much light on this as possible. FWIW, I've been happy with the performance of both batteries on an individual basis. It's just the fact that the Seidio 1750 costs 3x as much as the HTC 1500 that makes me like the HTC more.

I think I might be a little disappointed if I had paid $50 for my Seidio, but I got my for $33 and have been extremely happy with it. I go through my normal day and have plenty of battery life when I got to bed. The only time I have to charge it during the day is if I spend a lot of time at the beach where the signal is spotty at best.

i have the original 1300Mah that came with the phone and i have two of the OEM HTC 1500Mah TP2 batteries. i only planned on getting one, but i got screwed buying one on ebay, and ended up just buying one from Verizon directly for $30, and then i replaced the defective one that i got on ebay later on, i won't say how.

long story short, i have 3 OEM HTC batteries for my phone, 2 1500's and the original. i have been running the 1500Mah ones since i got them. they last me plenty long. they will come in handy when traveling or going on camping trips though. i'm sure i'll get bored being away from a computer and end up killing a battery or two.

now i just need my external charger to arrive. taking out a dead battery makes no sense without a way to charge it back up.

My usage pattern: moderate to light usage. basically a fairly even mix of reading emails (30), calls (25 mins), texts (20), android market downloads (2 apps), uz media player background videos (2 hours), listened to a couple audio podkasts, used touiteur for about 30 minutes, listened to music for about an hour, and composed a couple of emails throughout the day.

Wow. This completely destroyed my stock battery. I am VERY impressed.

I've got the stock battery a TP2 battery and a Seidio and I can tell you the Seidio for me at least last longer then the other two but I don't think it's worth $50 I paid $20 or maybe $25 can't remember now used from a friend for mine so it's worth it but it doesn't get enough battery life over the TP2 to justify $35 that's forsure

and I don't kow how much more people can ask from regular users on which battery they perfer . I don't think many peopel are going to take the time out of there day to do controlled battery tests lol

On that note I got another Seidio for my mothers incredible and after 3 days it's still getting much worse battery life then stock if it doesn't get better after another 3-5 days I'll be trying to get a replacment as it might be a deffetive unit

I am on my first cycle of my brand spanking new 1750 seidio... at this point my stock battery and this 1750 is absolutely dead even.

I run 6A - 10P on stock... and 6A - 10:30P on the 1750...

4 more cycles and I'm not getting 6A - 12 Midnight its going back...

Got a Seidio 1750 for my Eris a few months ago and it seemed a *bit* better than the oem 1750 (though not what I would have expected with an additional 450). I used it for a coupe if months and was getting about the same uptime as oem...I thought. After seeing the article on non-oem batteries I decided to throw the old oem, which had been on the shelf collecting dust, back in. Low and behold my dead time went from 6-10 hrs to 10-14 on the first day. Had a seidio in a bb some time before that with similar results (actually on the bb they had identical performance despite the supposed increased capacity).

For my money I'll stick with oem and grab one of the 1500s for my DInc.

YMMV, just my experience with 2 batteries from Seidio...maybe I got 2 bad batteries a coupe years apart?

My brother got a new TP2 in April. He got a Nexus One last week, after having phone envy when he saw my Incredible. His TP2 is GSM and I'm not sure if they use the same batteries, not sure why it wouldn't, but we will see. I plan to pick up the battery from him this week and if it works, we will just swap and he plans to just sell the TP2 on ebay anyway.

Here is to hoping it all goes well. =)


Edit/update:

I just picked up the battery from my brother and tossed it into the phone. It's been in for maybe 90 minutes, charged it back up to full and have it plugged into my PC while I transfer a few things to it. Will pull it off and give it some lovin'. Hoping just to pull a couple extra hours with it. Will update when I've had a bit of time with it.


edit/update 2:

have spent some time with the new battery. didnt use the phone as much as normal, between cooking dinner diagnosing and rrpairing a pc and ***ging it out in tf2, i just didnt fool eith it like normal.

my stats so far are.....10:48:27 up, 4:38:12 awake. cell standby 41%, phone idle 36%, android system 18%, display 5%. osmonitor and system app both say 73%. i did not do the turn off and keep charging method (you know what im talking about), gonna try it tomorrow. it really did do bettet than i expected. i will report back tomorrow after a nice big charge on this battery.


Edit/update 3:

The day didn't go as I had planned, phone got left at home and didn't come off of the charger until about 8PM, it's 3AM now. Uptime of 32:10:39, Awake time of 17:04:13. Plan to actually turn the phone off and give it a good solid charger tomorrow. Battery is reporting 57% charge today after fairly heavy usage coming off the charger. Lots of time on WiFi, as well.

My regular battery would probably be in need of a charge by now. I am pretty pleased with these unscientific "tests" I've run. Basically, I just use the phone like normal and I have seen an improvement in how long the charge lasts. I will check back in with more news tomorrow, after it gets a good charge on the charger with the phone powered off.

I didn't do as much gaming today as normal, very light usage throughout the day (for me). I'd say that makes me "moderate". I used Google Maps, as you can see, I think that makes up for my light use of my games. I made some phone calls, fielded and sent out the normal amount of texts. I even showed off some of the coolness of the phone to someone today. Random loading of internet pages to show how fast the browser was and some of the random/neat apps like Sky Map and Google Goggles.

I can assure you that my 1300mAh battery would be dead just from this usage. It would have had to sit on the charger at my desk all day or it would be in need of a charge.

I am no scientist, but based on my usage patterns I can say that the 1500mAh battery is far superior. This makes me wonder if the 1500mAh is less awesome and the 1300mAh might just suck. The 2150 is getting reports of in stock, or soon to be in stock. That's good. This will hold me over until I finally pick up a 2150. I look forward to the battery life that the 2150mAh will net me, especially after the results with the 1500mAh.
